The latest iteration of NewsFlash has been improved in the Joomla 1.6 – Teline IV release — it can now include multiple categories (as opposed to one (1) In the Joomla 1.5 version. Thanks Joomlart!

There arejust some issues that need to be addressed, and one is the size of the pics. In the latest module, there is no option to restrict the size of the images, as found in most “news” modules. As a result, when the photo is larger that the “placement position”. the photo spills ovr the boundary.

The second module on the top right column (front page) of this Joomla 1.6 Teline IV Sandbox is an example of a modified NewsFlash module. The problem will not always show until there is a larger image shows.

I have not checked yet, if the cloned modules are not cloning properly to create unique new modules. The issue of inability to create unique clones have been encountered in the new Joomla 1.6 Teline IV, but never an issue in the Joomla 1.5 version either of Teline II or IV that I tried.

    Dear cgc0202,

Not much clear on the issue so please attach an image which shows the problem if possible.

    Hi dathq.

It is good someone from JOOM finally responded. For some reason, the name sounded familiar. Is JOOM affiliated wtih Joomlart in anyway? Is it involved in the creation of Teline IV.

I was gathering the information that you requested, and I accidentally stumbled into something that will take precedence. I already have collected screenshots to send to you what I discovered from my installations of both Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6 since about two weeks ago will decide whether I wil even consider Teline IV.

I liked it quite a bit, that is why I have been working on it almost non-stop whenever I have the time to understand it. Teline IV is definitely a great improvement over Teline III. There is something that I have to confirm though before I do more experimentation with Teline IV.

In the meantime, if you have any working Teline IV, you do not have to understand my post. Just do the following steps:

    1. Go to the original Newsflash module (found in Top position)
    2. Open to edit. to the right panel of the NewsFlash edit
    3. Answer “Show” or Yes to ensure the image will show the images, text, title, snd while you are at it, the Read More”
    4. Then, open Advance. Make sure it states “No Cache” and to ensure that you observe what I observe, place “O” in the time for Cache. Click save.
    5. Clone several copies of the Nesflash in your existing Teline IV site.
    6. For each, select at least the following Categories:
    7. —Space
      — Green Environment
      — Architecture
      — do more where there are large horizontal or vertical images
Place at least two of them in the content-bot module (just below the JA News position. Make sure that you disable the World 24H and the adjacent module.

    8. Place two adjacent one is the right1 and right2 both must be in position 1. Again, for this test, make sure you click “All” in the window where this cloned Newsflash modules. It will be faster that way. It will require also your ability to observe keenly to notice the nuances I observed. But, others, since some of the images are too big, they just hit you like a train.

It goes without saying that to click and refresh several times to observe all the positibilities I observed. Also, the more clones you make, the faster the probability you will see all of the possibilities.

Let me reiterate about ensuring “No Cache” and to be redundant, place “O” in the window for duration. This is another glitch in the program — If it is in “No Cache” mode, the system still cached (images not replenishing).

As I stated, I would have gladly sent you the ones I already finished, but something more pressing also came up — very relevant to Teline IV, in both Joomla 1.5 and 1.6. I spent from way past midnight last night, documenting other Telines I have installed, including tracked down an original Teline installation, almost four years now.

As the other Joomlart staff has pointed out, who I believe was involved in the actual development of Teline IV, he had to replicate another bug that I reported about a week ago. That was even more complicated to verify. I thought I was going insane from lack of sleep when I encountered that other bug. But, as confirmed by one of the Joomlart staff, it was indeed a bug,

The problem with the Newsflash, I detected immediately. And, just by some more imagination, could speculate on the permutations. You have to do it on your own to appreciate, and find the subttleties.

I never encountered the more pressing issue I found in Teline IV in other prrior Telines.. I even performed “one after another” installations of Teline 2 and Teline IV, just to make sure if I can observe them in older Telines. I only did a few Teline III when the latter was first released, but I gave up on Teline III. However, in those installations of Teline III, I never encountered what I encountered with a recent issue I encountered with Teline IV.

I have even elevated it to my webhosting service to investigate it in the server side. Then, I have to get confirmations.

    dathq,

I forgot to ask, I do not know how big JOOM is, but do you know if there are staff named: Eva, Jenny and Martin? If you can verify those names for me, I would apprciate it. Hung does not respond to PMs anymore, and seldom here in the forum. But, I understand his situation, as Joomlart gets bigger.

    So, any information could help.
