October 13, 2008 at 4:48 pm #134356I wanted to go back and put my logo in for the website, but when I went to the template to edit it says it is unwritable and I can’t choose the image option.
What can I do?
The only thread I saw about the logo was one below – which is helpful – if I could pick imagine instead of text.
Expand the “logo module”

HI
you can replace logo.gif in templates/ja_labra/images
then editCode:
h1.logo a {template.css (line 778)
background:transparent url(../images/logo.gif) no-repeat scroll 0 0;
display:block;
height:34px;–> change height
left:0;
position:absolute;
top:20px;
width:180px;–> change width

October 28, 2008 at 11:29 pm #277321You have to log into your site via FTP (or your web hosts file manager) and change the permissions on params.ini file to allow changes (777). You have to put it back to whatever it was when you are done, also – for security reasons.

October 29, 2008 at 8:52 am #277373Hi
Can I mark this topic is solvec?December 6, 2008 at 1:33 am #281507Yes, I have been having this problem with various sites for some time.
Sometimes changing the permissions via FTP or file manager works, but often the problem returns a few saves later. Two things are worth considering:
1) it is possible if you are with a new host and have used some sort of automated script to set up your site – such as Fantastico or Quicklaunch – that you don’t have ownership of the files, and your webhost may need to chown the site for it to work. If your host runs SuPHP apparently this won’t be a problem – but many otherwise good hosts don’t.
2) Enable the FTP layer in Global Configuration. In other words make sure that your Joomla site has the correct FTP details and that FTP is enabled. If you do this, the params.ini file may say it is unwritable, but it lets you save changes and works ok anyway. (But this only works if you have ownership…). There are posts about this on the joomla.org forum.
Hope this helps
