May 10, 2008 at 10:03 am #248468In the meantime can you give us some tips on what Galena will be about? :p
from wiki:
Galena is the natural mineral form of lead sulfide. It is the most important lead ore mineral.
Galena is one of the most abundant and widely distributed sulfide minerals. It crystallizes in the cubic crystal system often showing octahedral forms. It is often associated with the minerals sphalerite, calcite and fluorite.😀

May 10, 2008 at 10:30 am #248469Come on! I think you guys should stop complaining about these things. Get into CSS more, buy a book, do some research yourself. Be happy there are so many templates, you can do something too. JA is not your daddy, it is a very cheap way to get websites up and running, with a little effort and tweaking or correcting sometimes. That’s life! You can always spend €5000 on a good webdesigner for a website as an alternative… 😉
JA does a wonderful job, I do appreciate that.

May 10, 2008 at 11:47 am #248482Some of you people, are very funny. Specially, you people complainig delay. I really do not understand you. In effort to explain it to me, just answer me few qustions:
1. Are you going to put new template, in this case, Galena, immediately on your live site?!
2. Are you planning to put new template before you know what it it’s design and possibilities?!
3, Maybe, you are expecting Galena to be template which, by miracle, will solve all your design or html problems?!C’mon, be realistic, few days earlier or later will not change a thing. Specially now, when Hung made change and announce Galena as 1st May template. Thank you for that Hung and JA.

Most of those who complain simply want the eye candy of seeing a new template. It’s like waiting for a new video game or movie to be released – whether they plan on seeing it on the first day or not.Just relax, people . . . You’ll get your eye candy soon.

Nope, none pays me to do it. And I pay for the templates.

If you chose to use Joomla! then it is YOUR responsibilty to make sure that you know how Joomla! works.
There are many, many documents out there that explain how to use Joomla! Hell there is even a Joomla Tutorial site.
Granted JA should provide set-up instructions for each of their templates – which they do.
It is also not their responsibilty to make sure that their templates are compatible with all of the thousands of Joomla! extensions that are available. To think that is just insane. You are paying a small fee for a quality Joomla! template. You are not paying to have JA customize a template so that it works specificly for your set-up.
If you need your template customized and you can’t do it yourself, then hire a developer.</blockquote>
Absolutely agree, except of one thing – SOME OF THE TEMPLATES DO NOT WORK OR HAVE BUGS – which indeed is a responsibility of JA.

I am publishing a lot of extensions I write for free. I am supporting members in forums, writing documentation … and I do it, where it worths. Here I pay and expect to receive the promised quality. This doesn’t happens yet with the only template I used.VisiGod FriendVisiGod

The only template you’ve used? Then why does it indicate that you have 267 downloads?TomC ModeratorTomC

Are you saying that the JA Team (and others) have not been actively trying to respond to member inquiries as to various issues relating to the Template? I would have to respectfully disagree with you . . . I see a lot of people trying to work with and help people on a daily basis as best they can.VisiGod FriendVisiGod

Many of the issues we see being posted are individual issues . . . occurring for one reason or another. It is not always the template itself of the JA Team’s “fault.” Otherwise, why would the demo version work correctly?I visit other template clubs and I always see posts from people requesting assistance with various issues. This does not necessarily mean that there are “bugs” and/or that the respective Developers haven’t responded to reports of bugs. In JA’s case, Hung and his Team have responded to reports of bugs. Sure, there may be some more discovered as time goes by … and there will always be individual issues/problems. Such is the nature of web design – especially with cross browser php/css coding within a complex Content Management System like Joomla.
Some seem to lose sight of this.
