Exactly…nice saying and they are facing with delays everyday. Delay regarding “Galena” is only few days, no big deal.

But you DON’T pay for parameter switches and such, you pay for a template. They have been nice enough to include some, but to expect them to make one for every possible module and plugin is rediculous.

Alot of templates don’t work for people because of Javascript conflicts and other issues that are not directly related to the template.
If you want to ensure your modules and other things work properly and are not willing to tweak the template code, then I suggest trying a template that doesn’t have any of the cool features you find in the JA templates. Go for a free template that has no Javascript in it.
You also say you code modules and stuff, so perhaps your coding is causing the conflicts not the template.
For all of the complaining people, I would like to remind them that a template is a starting point, you don’t download a resume template from Microsoft and then submit it to an employer, you have to tweak it to fit your needs.

Well, I think you simply like to complain a lot and point the finger at others when you either can’t figure something out on your own or refuse to take the time to broaden your knowledge base on a particular issue … even after people provide you with reference links.Hung does not have a Staff of 100 people who do nothing but monitor the Forum 24/7. Most of the regular JA Staff and Forum Moderators have regular jobs and interests outside of the Forum. Nevertheless, they try to help as best they can … and support has certainly improved over the last couple of months.
Try taking a deep breath and dig into whichever website you are currently working on.
Much much more productive than complaining and pointing fingers.😎

Well, I think if the templates are done in a quality manner, it will not be a problem. And you are given templates. JoomlART is not a “turnkey” or “built to go” website service, it is a template club . . . meaning, JoomlART provides templates for it’s members to take and develop their own websites from.VisiGod FriendVisiGod

May 10, 2008 at 5:48 pm #248550Yes, no doubt on that. But as stated above – JA TELINE is full of bugs. And as it doesn’t works and have issues (without any other extensions installed), this means I haven’t received a template for which I paid. That’s it.
When you buy a car, you don’t expect the seller to clean it each week, or to put fuel instead of you. That is for sure. But if the alarm of your brand new car, stops working on the second day, you will ask the seller to fix it right? And what would you do, if he doesn’t?TomC ModeratorTomC

Many problems start when people dont know how to open the milk bottle;)
This post was about the delayed release of Galena, not if JA dont fix bugs or not. So stick to the tread, if you feel there is more to discuss.
When it comes to templates and bugs, i have mentioned this before but then a person stated i was lying saying it but i say it again. Teline ll was tested over a period of 3 days and all the bugs we found was corrected.
When the template was released more bugs came in which wasnt so nice ofcourse, many bugs is related to extensions added to this template.Me and Hung discussed the future releases and how to acomplish a better release and to avoid bugs etc in templates( we talked by IM for 4-5 hours about it).
This was right before the release of Teline ll, and monday after our meeting he informed the rest of the team about the changes. I dont remember all the changes we discussed but we agreed to start with the steps easiest to change first( Dont think about this as a quick fix for a small problem sincve i said easiest steps first).
The first steps was:
– Template release dates.
– Template release setup.
– Change log( error reports in testing phase)
– 3 days for testing. (In most cases this is plenty of time to fix bugs found since we are from 3 to 5 people at the testing phase.)Our next milestone which we will discuss next week we will include even more changes, but all of theese changes is changes which you customers dont see.
This happens behind the scene at JA.Since its quite many tasks we are talking about here we need to start one place and dig trough them, due to this here: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/hello-ja-comunity/ i havent been around so much the last month. but i have completed our meeting plan for next week.

Stop asking me this question. If I wanted to say this, I would say it. If you want to say it, don’t try to put the words in my mouth.

Very funny.

So maybe you need to test it 30 days or even 300. And the question is what was done to fix these “more bugs” that come 🙂Menalto FriendMenalto

Even if the templates was tested for 300 days people will still find bugs due to other things than the template itself.unixboymd Friendunixboymd

May 10, 2008 at 8:04 pm #248564Technically speaking, you are not buying templates.
You pay for access to the club. And as a member of that club you are promised to receive two (2) templates each month. No where in the club Terms of Service does it state that they promise to release those 2 templates on specific dates.
If JA wanted to they could release the templates at rotating and random times each and every month and not be in violation of the agreement.
And just because they try to release one of the new templates as close to the beginning of the month as possible, it DOES NOT mean that they are required to do it that way.
<em>@VisiGod 52718 wrote:</em><blockquote>So, when I buy templates, I expect templates and not apologizes.</blockquote>
Funny, the first day that Teline II came out I installed it on 4 different servers with out any problems at all. Then when the so called “bug reports” started coming in and the template started changing, I installed those changes too and still didn’t have any problems.
If it is a true “bug” then the template shouldn’t work at all. Otherwise it’s just a conflict with YOUR server configuration, or the extensions you have installed, or your hosting providers set-up, etc.

May 10, 2008 at 8:59 pm #248569Well, this is your opinion. I installed it on 3 servers as well. On two of them that are the local and specially designed to work with Joomla has the same bug related to the SEF. Whatever.
Btw. I didn’t compain about the release dates and delays. I am fine if they publish both on 31 May, but to be working.
