Hi, I purchased Teline V and I’ve been trying to figure out why the AddThis social sharing (to Facebook) is not grabbing the correct image and is not grabbing the correct introduction.
I tried to use a different Social Sharing PlugIn, but it is doing the same thing.
I then tried to use the Social Sharing on an article in your Teline V Demo online…. and it too doesn’t post the correct image or correct intro. Since the Demo does NOT work correctly, it has nothing to do with my installation.
I looked at the code and the Social Sharing seems to be taking the image and intro paragraph from the menus system and not the article. So I believe that either the Article or the Main Menu needs to be moved.
There is a second problem too. The Social Sharing does not show up to share the video articles or the blog articles. This is a major problem.
I need to have help with this and get it fixed right away. One of the major reasons for choosing this template was because it advertised to do Social Sharing… so obviously it needs to be fixed for others as well as me.

March 5, 2016 at 7:37 pm #895327The Social share buttons seem to work fine on your site for me.
March 5, 2016 at 8:44 pm #895334The buttons themselves work fine, but they are not posting the correct image or the correct intro paragraph. Even your Demo doesn’t do it correctly. Something is very wrong.

March 6, 2016 at 12:22 am #895354I only use G+ and Twitter and the latter, at least, doesn’t normally include images on tweets from Social buttons. The intro text on FB seems correct to me.

March 6, 2016 at 2:22 pm #895507I just checked on a Teline V site I built some while ago and you are right. The FB intro text bears no relationship to the article title 🙁 See: http://mt5j345.mwinda.org) Weird.
March 6, 2016 at 11:36 pm #895648Thank you for checking on your own website.
I believe the intro text is being taken from the ‘next’ article from the Mainmenu.
What would be the way to get the Social Share to skip the Mainmenu and go just to the article to get the information?
This is really important to me and my group. Especially my supervisor. He is beginning to think I picked the wrong template to use, but I like the layout and ease of use. He really wants everyone to post our article with the correct pictures and intro paragraphs on Facebook.
Thanks,

March 7, 2016 at 1:28 am #895689March 7, 2016 at 1:46 am #895756I know it sounds crazy, but on this particular article the Intro paragraph came out correct, but the image posted was the wrong one. I’m completely stumped.
I also can’t get the Social Share to turn on for sharing videos or the blog articles. What can I do? How do I share them?

March 7, 2016 at 2:42 am #895785All articles including blogs work for me on FB.
Video sharing is usually dependent upon the video source. See top right corner on YouTubes.Tim

March 7, 2016 at 7:09 am #895851@drproactive: If you want to share the data of your site to FB, you will have to create an og:image meta tag for each image see here. Hope it helps
March 7, 2016 at 5:17 pm #896138Thanks Tim, I see that now about the video…. it makes sense.
Thanks Ninja Leader, I will look into this og:image meta tag thing… sounds very helpful.
