I have a Joomlart T3 2.0 Website on Joomla 1.6.3. I’m now trying to move it from my own computer on XAMPP to a server. The site was packaged with Akeeba Backup 3.2.7 and installed on the destination machine with Kickstart. I can log into the back end but when I try to view the site, I receive the message, The template for this display is not available.

The template in question is a modified version of the JA Purity II template. I can switch to a stock template such as Purity II or Atomic. Those work fine. When I try to access my own template in the backend, I receive the message, 500 – An error has occurred. Error loading form file.

All the files for my own template are in place on the server. The permissions for that template are the same as those for stock templates: 0755 for the folders and 0644 for the files.

What can I do to repair my installation?

    Hi,

Can you please provide me your site url, admin access and ftp access via PM? I will have a look at it.

The site is no longer available. I had to jettison the T3 package. I have a client waiting so decided to build with Joomla 1.6 only.

    Hi cmbay,

If it worked on localhost but failed to work in the live server, then something went wrong with the transfer of files. We would be able to help if we can access and check your site. Let us know if you would be able to reload everything from your localhost to another test server for us to debug the issue?

    Regards

    Arvind

    We have the same issue.

    Not sure, whats going on.

    Shall I submit a support ticket ?

And I need to know the reason and fix for this then.

when transferring from local to live be sure you do NOT use the same .htaccess and configuration.php. Both will have to be modified to work properly.

Did them all, still no good.

This is purely frustrating, since its just IMPOSSIBLE for any other reason, other than T3 .

I’ve read elsewhere on these forum (I believe it was on the JA Putiry II thread) that packing and reinstalling the template would make the problem go away.
    Can anyone confirm this?

    Best regards

This is a really bad idea.. 1.6 has no support from joomla nor us right now.
its simply a matter of how things were moved and the configurations that exist locally.
the 500 error means permissions are not functions as they should, either because of bad db access ( username/pw/prefix) or permissions themselves OR incompatiblity in server services.
