    Hi,

    Has anyone experience this problem:

the xml response that was returned from the server is invalid

I’m doing the quick install for Zeolite 1.5.9, and when I hit the Install Sample Data, I get the following error:

the xml response that was returned from the server is invalid

Everything checks fine on the Pre-Requisites, no reds…………..

I would really appreciate any help regarding this, thanks and God Bless….

It could have uploaded incorrectly, there could be some server side protection or bad config. It could be quite a few things. Try uploading a fresh install with filezilla. If that doesn’t work install it on your desktop then copy the database and files up afterwards.

    Hi Phill,

Thanks for the quick response, I’m uploading again a fresh install, but I did a quick search on Joomla, and some folks are having the same situation with Joomla 1.5.9, this is the first time I’ve encounter this, cause I’ve done quick install from Joomlart, and all of them have gone good….Also, the Server of my Client meets the minimum requirements for Joomla, and the check-up for the installation, everything checks out ok, no red……..

    I will try it onced more….and see…….

    God Bless Phill…..

    Hi,

No, I just tried again and no go, the site is below:

    http://www.mysportscoachingcompany.com/

This is somewhat frustrating, the client’s server meets the minimum requirements for Joomla 1.5.9 installation, everything checks ok in the pre-install check, yet for some unknown reason, it gives me the error on installing the sampliin data………My other option would be to install, the Nightly Build from Joomla, and then install the Zeolite Template, but I wanted to go with the Quick-Installation from Joomlart, faster…..

I hope someone could help me…..Thanks and God Bless….

For a quick fix, install wamp on your desktop and install the quickstart there. Once you have done that copy from your desktop to your host your files and sqldump. All you have to do then is edit your configuration.php file and you are set to go.

Before you do that, have you tried some of the other templates as some are still on 1.5.8. If that fails then maybe there is something wrong with the server setup.

    Hi Phill,

Thanks for the response, yes I have tried the same Template on this site: http://www.the101ways.com, I installed it using the Quick-Start, and everything went good. I just tried it with the Manual Installation and nothing, tried importing the sql file into the database, and nothing. One last option I have, is to do with the just the nightly build from Joomla, just joomla and see how that goes…..But I feel that the Client’s Server is not set-up correctly, even though I did a phpinfo and everything checked all-right during the pre-installation check…….

I’m just going to let him know that it would be best to transfer the whole site to another Hosting Provider, like Apt-Host……..Thanks Phill for the suggestion, and God Bless…..

    Sincerely yours,

    Sunday

Sounds like a good move if the host cannot help.
