    Hello
I dive back into the Joomlart stuff and I installed the very nice Fixel template.
In the demo, there is a theme colors switcher that I tried to reproduce following the user guide, especially the section 11.2 Colors Menu module.

What a pain… This part is not very explicite. The quickstart site doesn’t even include this part completely set.
I understood that I had to create a new menu with items “colors” menus, with a suffix css class “colors”, with the right template style and linked to the featured articles.

I had hard time to achieve that. (I should be familiar with Joomlart…). Anyway…
Something I can’t achieve is to keep the color choosen once the style template is switched.

Once I load a new page, the default style comes back. I can workaround by using the popup mode but it’s not very satisfying because any other page which is gotten in an other way than popup (eg. contact form or any other) is set back with the default style.

I give up for now but I would be happy to get your feedback.

Forgive my poor english, I’m french (you know…)

    Regards
    Fred

    Hi Fred,

For each color, we create equivalent theme and in our demo site, we create multiple template styles which will use these theme colors. http://prntscr.com/3d7avl .You can open one of these template style > navigate to ‘Theme’ tab and select your desired theme.

If you already followed the user guide, you will see 2 steps: create menu color and create menu module to display this color menu. Once ‘color’ menu is created, you create its menu item, each menu item will represent one color.

Let’s take an example of ‘Light Orange Color’ color as in our demo:
    – Create a template style called ja_fixel – Home Orange and assign ‘orange’ theme for it: http://prntscr.com/3d7ayu
    – Create a menu item (belongs to color menu) with type Featured articles and assign ja_fixel – Home Orange template style to this menu item: http://prntscr.com/3d7chm
    – Then in front page of your site, when click color in menu module in position-2, it will show orange theme.

You can do the same for other theme color.

    Hope you get the idea.

    Best

Hi Saguaros and thank you for your very detailed reply.
Here is what I did, following the user guide and checking with your advices (see part 09):

01-Creating of the theme in the template manager
    http://prntscr.com/3d8309

    02-Details
    http://prntscr.com/3d83j1

    03-Menu assigment
    http://prntscr.com/3d83o5

    04-Colors menu + items
    http://prntscr.com/3d83s5

    05-Module settings
    http://prntscr.com/3d841y

    06-Module in front-end OK
    http://prntscr.com/3d8453

07-Switch OK (but weird breadcrumbs IMO. I should deactivate it for the home page)
    http://prntscr.com/3d849e

08-Article in popup keeps the color chosen
    http://prntscr.com/3d84qg

09-A click to a page from menu gets back with the default style
    http://prntscr.com/3d8536

    Hi Fred,

I understand your idea that when you select the light theme when clicking color in that module, and click one of links in : http://prntscr.com/3d8536, it still keep the light theme, right?

Actually, in color module, it retrieves menu items from color menu. So when you click on ‘light’ color, it views one menu item page with light theme, the popup belongs to this page will still keep chosen ‘light’ color. However, the links as above still have default style so it will be back to default theme set in your site.

    Hi Saguaros
Yes, you got what I had in mind. After several tries, that’s what I was afraid of.
    Thank you for your time.
