March 15, 2010 at 2:01 pm #149526Hello
I wish to translate JA Lead to spanish.
Does the theme come with an editable language file, and if so where do i find it … or does one have to go through all the individual files searching for translatable strings.
Thank you.

I have tried Joomfish three times, and not ever been able to install/utilise it properly since the instructions are not very clear. I am using two separate Joomla installations for the two languages since the contents of the two sites will vary and therefore Joomfish is not required.
My question is regarding the text strings that require translation in the actual JA Lead theme not the site contents.
Does JA Lead or any Joomlart theme come with a language file, if so, what is it called? I assume one of the Joomlart crew should know the answer.
Apologies for any confusion and thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to answer.

March 17, 2010 at 4:54 am #336530Dear wombat1!
As default, the JA Lead Template supported the Language Translation via the INI file its named is en-GB.tpl_ja_lead.ini, you can find this file in the Language/en-GB folder. Now you copy this file and rename follow your language, put it in the right folder and then you translate all text inside this file.
If you could not complete this task, pls give me the screenshort and draw some shapes on the Problem position of the template because i would like to have a closer look on the issue,
Thanks

March 17, 2010 at 5:36 am #336536Hi Tienhc
Thank you, this is the information i was after, however it does not solve the problem.
I used Quick installer with demo content and there is no
en-GB.tpl_ja_lead.ini
there is only
en-GB.tpl_ja_topaz.ini
i did not install topazalso i tried opening the en-GB.tpl_ja_topaz.ini file but it seems to have only 11 strings anyway.
Thanks

March 18, 2010 at 9:19 am #336758Hi Tienhc
Thak you for your time, it is much appreciated.
Problem is the same with current files. I only joined a few days ago and i have downloaded the lead package three times, last time just a few minutes ago.
The package in each case still contains the same ini file from topaz.
I am referring to quickstart version.
Therefore it must be some error as the problem remains in the current download.With the .zip that contains just the theme and not the quickstart, i cannot find the language ini file at all
Please, how do i find and install the new version with proper language file.

no lead.ini anywhere.Can you please recheck the Quickstart files that you are uploading as it appears to be the same problem still.

March 19, 2010 at 12:46 am #336824I found the
en-GB.tpl_ja_lead.ini
file in the installer for the template as opposed to the quickstart.I assume that copying this file to the language directory is all that needs to be done?
Do i have to make any other changes?Thank you.

March 19, 2010 at 8:33 pm #336941Hello wombat1,
It should do what you want. Please copy the file to language directory and translate what you need.

March 27, 2010 at 1:05 am #337955Hi again.
I uploaded the file in english
en-GB.tpl_ja_lead.ini
to
languages/en-GB
then duplicated it, translated it and renamed it to
es-ES.tpl_ja_lead.ini
which was then placed it into
languages/es-ES/
however the site is not picking up any of the changes.
eg. the string
You are here
in the breadcrumbs does not change.What could be happening. Thank you

March 27, 2010 at 3:08 am #337966Hi Wombat1,
Please open your templates/ja_lead/index.php around line 132 please find this code :
<!– PATHWAY –>
<div id=”ja-pathway” class=”wrap”>
<div class=”main clearfix”>
<div class=”ja-pathway-text”>
<strong>You are here: </strong><jdoc:include type=”module” name=”breadcrumbs” />
</div>You can change the text >> You are here : to your language. It seems to be hardcoded in the PHP.
