Not sure how u customised the template and result in this issue .
Theme files are from the Less folder in the template and the view is from the T3. First, I suggest you do not duplicate the template with different properties , after this, it will not longer be a JA Product and you can not update it via JA Extension manager .
If you still want to change the template name You can rename the template from the template manager .
Here is a tip by co-worker to change template name .

Thanks for your reply. It was some JS we added to the tpls/default.php moving that to the blocks/head.php fixed it all.
