    Hello,

The thumbnail plugin works perfectly, however, I found that it only works for images SAVED in the same server as the site.

Meaning, this plugin dosen’t work properly for images “linked” from another source.

    * For the JA News, it resizes, but it is out of proportion.

” For the Bulletin, it doesn’t show the thumbnail at all.

    Any solution to this?

There might be a solution here – I haven’t had time to test, but it looks as though it might work:-

Since it’s only the images linked from an outside sourced url, I don’t think it applies to that thread.

No one has ever used an image from an external site? Or it works for everyone here?

Anyone who has tried with external images who has the same problem (or not)?

    Hello sushismb!

i think that you should use internal images, because:

    1) If you use external image, your site depent on other server and speed of NET so much. Your site will make many http request to render those external images, then the speed of your site will be slower, if any problem happend to them such as they were changed path or deleted, so the time of request will longer and they do not show on your site.
    2) The “Resize image” function use for render linked images, it’s very simple to implement on the JA Products, but it will not bring good effort, so that JA Product skip this function.
    3) JA is improving the resize function, it will be better and more flexible. you wait to download and upgrade your modules.

    Thanks for your reply.

    1) Yes, I do understand this. I was not asking if it is advisable to use external images and use internal images only. There are reasons I need to use external images.

    2) I do not understand your explanation, sorry. I am not talking about what to implement on the popup plugin. I’m simply saying that “external images” don’t work with this plugin – and it doesn’t explain so in the instructions.

    3) Same answer as 2)

So again, did I confirm that external images WILL NOT WORK? Because if so, I think JA should include that in the instructions. I hope I didn’t miss any line that indicates though.

    Thanks.
