Hello everybody,
I’m testing a beta of a new website based on teline II.
In the editor windows is possible to give a title (main title) to an article and then start to write (text, picture, etc).My question is:
is it possible to fix a second line under the title? a sub-title? made a window, a form to fill (as now for title) to insert a sub-title?Have I to ask to my developer to open the second form to digit the sub-title or is there a function or a plug-in?
thank a lot

March 30, 2009 at 4:25 pm #299078This would require a lot of coding on many of the Joomla core files.
An alternative would be to use <H1> (or 2,3 ,4 etc) tags within the article itself. So you would have…
Main Article Title
Sub title written directly in article.Normal article text goes here…..blah, blah blah….

Very good sugestion Scotty. There many ways to skin a cat! I had the same thought last night, but I am not too sure if there are codes already in Teline II that might just do that.
I think the JA Tabs might be used creatively to address some of the issues raised here, althought I cannot categorily state so. It is possible to insert the JA Tabst within a page. Have you ever used it? I could not get to work properly. I could use the help of someone who has actually used it, and make the all the features work.

andrea</blockquote>That would be great andrea,
And explore the JA Tabs, from the features, it is really a good extension. It is very powerful and have many rich features as a general module, and more important to add features within an article. Such a capability is what makes a page in articles more attractive.
Maybe if you have more time, you can get all the features to work. Please let me know, also.

April 1, 2009 at 5:29 am #299390Unfortunately now the solutions has bring another problem;-)
If you give to the subtitle head 3 (good for the page of the article) after you have problems in Home Page with the JA NEWS MODULE….because the first news of a sections has a oversize font into the square…
so you have to made some experiments…and try to get the one good both for article page and home page-ja news module-section subtitle (long to say…!) 😉
I’m playing on it….

Hi satelios,
I can visualize the complication. There is an easy solution for this in the Joomla 1.0.x. It is possible to have an Intro text (equivalent to the text an images that is before read more in Joomla 1.5.x) that can be different in the actual full article.
Title
by author (etc.)
Image1 here (e.g., small size)
Intro1 text here <= this intro text can be a catchy summary or abract
the above will appear in the Homepage. However, when you click the article in the Homepage to go to the full article, it is possible to do this in Joomla 1.0.x
Title
by author (etc.)
Subtitle here <= Not included in the above intended for the Homepage.Image2 here (e.g., larger size than the one shown in Homepage or a different image completely. This could be place elsewhere if you want. Image 1 will not appear in the full article.)
Intro2 text here <= This could be a rewrite or completely different introduction altogether.More text and images ....
That will solve the complication you stated, but unfortunately, this is not straightforward, if at all possible in Joomla 1.5.x
I asked this feature here in the Forum before, but I got no response. It is very powerful feature found in Joomla 1.0.x, and would be very interested if there is a script to restore this feature in Joomla 1.5.x.
One of the advantages is that you can create catchy intro text, even as full sentences — if you actually count the number of characters, rather than chopped sentences, as is common right now.
You may try asking this in the general Joomla (not Joomlart) forum. Maybe someone will be kind enough to answer.
This is actually just a conditional script, where it says — if Homepage do not show, else show it in the full article.
