Dear dedicated team of JA,

It’s now almost a year since Joomla stepped up from Joomla! 1.5 to 1.6 and subsequently 1.7.

I have 3 questions related Joomla! 1.7:

1- When are you converting all of your Joomla! 1.5 templates to Joomla! 1.7? (And this include JA Seleni which I believe, like many other templates, is still on the old Framework)

2- I have noticed that only the last two (2) templates support K2 for Joomla! 1.7. When will your J! 1.7 templates be compatible with K2?

3- As all support for Joomla! 1.5 will be coming to an end in a few month time, what should we expect from JA? (in terms of old/new templates and extensions development and conversion)

While there is no definitive timeframe or schedule we can provide at this time with regard to the “when” for updating more of our J1.5 Templates for J1.7/J2.5+, we can say that we are currently involved with forward development and testing toward this goal – including updating our K2 Search & Filter extension.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your response.

However, this does not really answer all my 3 questions.

Please read and answer these questions as a developper, I plan my future projects only if I have a hint on what’s coming up. And by answering these 3 questions – NOT generalising – I and many others will be more focussed.

Actually, it does … because the fact of the matter is that, at the present time, there is no “when” we can provide at this time with regard to the updates you inquire about within your initial post. I’m sorry that the “general” response is required – but this is the current reality fo the situation as it stands at this given moment.

HOWEVER . . . I will approach our JA Development Team further on these issues and see if I cannot obtain a more optimistic prognosis for the update/upgrading process.

Hi Tom,

Your responses are very frustrating. You just copy and paste your previous text instead of clarifying. I asked 2 different questions about a conversion from J! 1.5 to J! 1.7 and about K2 on J! 1.7. You have just given me the same answer without even refering to K2. And I am not sure you have even read my qeustions properly. These are 2 ver5y different questions.

I understand you can not give a timeframe, Just answer the questions if you have better info than copy/paste or allow someone else from your team to do so.

With all due respect, my friend . . . I have answered your questions.

BOTH of your questions regarding K2 involve “when” and “what.”

As for the “when,” I have provided you with the answers that best fit the current status.

As for the “what,” I also answered your question – indicating that “we are currently involved with forward development and testing toward this goal.”

I understand that the non-concise/definitive “when” and/or “what” in relation to both issues may be frustrating to you . . . but the fact of the matter is that there currently is no “when” (as I have repeatedly indicated) and the “what” is that we are currently involved with forward development and testing in relation to updating our products for/with the latest K2 J1.7 compatible component.
