    Hi Bookpeg

I don’t know what to do here but you might want to replace the current one and try this module:

The weather extension is pretty neat. Why does it not work for you?

I usually just leave a link to Weather Underground, which I believe will do weather around the world. You can try it and see. You can see what one of their “Weather Stickers” look like at the bottom of this page Click Here.

I use JWeather which is a simple module I picked up at extensions.joomla.org

You simply open the module, paste in a city code (from weather.com) and publish. That’s it!

If you want weather in more than one city, just duplicate the module, change the city code, done!

Cute little ‘cloudy’, ‘shower’, ‘sunny’, etc., icons built in too!

    When you said this below–V

“If you want weather in more than one city, just duplicate the module, change the city code, done!

Cute little ‘cloudy’, ‘shower’, ‘sunny’, etc., icons built in too!”

were you talking about the free todays weather module in the teline 11 quickstart install.
If so how do you do what you have suggested.

The cool thing about the todays weather module is that it is small and simply…. and fits in that
    space of the predefined colums…………

if you know of another weather module that fits in the colums without overlapping i think id like to see that? does the anyone know which weather module will fit in the ja teline 11 predefined colums?

Plus willl i be able to use this on a commercial online newspaper……. well an online newspaper.. as the liscense is non commercial.

Plus how do i put it at the top of the page.

    Hi bookpeg

No, I’m not using the standard Telline II ‘Today’s Weather’ module, it wasn’t good enough for my needs!

If you Google ‘JWeather Joomla Extension’ you will find the one I use. Simply install, configure (if you want icons to show, the city code you want to show weather for, etc.) and publish.

I’ve tested publishing in various positions in Telline II and it seems to resize to the Telline template with no problem at all.

    Good luck!

I’ve been looking round and the inbuilt todays waether module seems to work for me… i just dont know where to change the city…

Actually leave it i just tried to change the city and it appears the only way to do that is actually to write another city instead of the designated london text that exists…..

I cant find a decent weather module which will safely fit in the colums of Teline11….. and on weather.com it doesnt display my country malta…. so basically i need a weather mod which will fit within the teline 11 colum and display malta.

    HI bookpeg

Sorry, I had no internet connection for the last few days! However, I’m back 🙂

First thing to do is go here:
    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/4055/details

    and download the JWeather extension.

Install this in Joomla and publish the module in position ‘left’ or ‘right’ in Telline II (it fits fine, I tried it!).

Next, go to weather.com and put in a city you would like the weather for, in this case, I chose Valletta.

You will notice that the URL of the actual Valletta weather page contains a city code:

    In your case MTXX0001

In admin, open the module (via the module manager) and input your city code here:

That’s it! If you need more cities than Valletta, just duplicate the module and change the city code.

    Hope that helps!

At this point i’d be glad to follow this unfortunately the module isnt installing correctly.
and i get —V before the module installs… it doesnt want to be installed!

JInstaller::install: There is already a folder called ‘/home/reporter/public_html/language/en-GB/en-GB.mod_jweather.ini’. Please initially check whether:
    • the Extension is already installed
    • the file names in the XML file are spelled correctly
    • there are no XML files listed inside the extension.xml file
    • all of the files (not including XML files) are correctly listed in the extension.xml file and there are no duplicate entries
    • there is an empty folder listed from a previous installation attempt

    Hi bookpeg

It seems the module is already installed. In admin, go to Module Manager and find the JWeather module in the list.

Open it, change the “City Code” to “MTXX0001” (Valletta), set postition to ‘left’ or ‘right’ and publish. It should then appear on the front page.

I’m not JA Staff, but if you want to send me Admin Username and Password to your test site, I’ll gladly take a look for you.
