Using websiteoptimization.com I got too errors regarding CSS files:

    • TOTAL_CSS – Warning! The total number of external CSS files on this page is 25
    • CSS_SIZE – Warning! The total size of your external CSS is 61219 bytes, which is over 20K

I searched for .css files in my website, and found 232 of them

Could someone please explain me (and I’m a beginner) how to reduce the number of them (I already used CSS compression, there where way bigger before that)

    Thanks,
    Ivana

Several CSS files could be joined in one. But in general, it’s not a big issue. You found 232 CSS files becuase many modules, components and plugins use own CSS files. Try CssJsCompress, maybe it would help.

Ps. After every “optimization”, I check speed of site loading by http://host-tracker.com/. Sometimes, result is negative 🙂

@ivana Alot of Css and module positions dont use on your template.
Because with JA DEMO, he use all of position and css styles, but with your website, maybe you dont use all of them.
If you Knowleage about Css , HTML basic, easy for you to clean it.

Thank you both gray and lamvt, I’ll try to clean it up a little bit and use CssJsCompress.

I tested my website on HostTracker and the average response time is 2.84 sec. I suppose it is considered a good response time?
