For some reason, the first article on one of my pages is not top-aligning with the menu to the left. The same problem shows up when you click to read the full article. The alignment is correct, however, on the home page.
This is a recent problem–it started after I upgraded to Joomla 1.5.14.
I think the div for this is “ja-current-content”–I looked in the css and the top padding is set to be 0 (0 0 20 px), so I’m not sure what to change?
You can see the problem here:

Thanks for any help…

August 18, 2009 at 4:53 pm #314643Hi. This is not a problem with your template this is a problem with your Joomla.
If you look at the HTML for the following pages you will see there is a blank line being written into the HTML above the <div class=”componentheading”> in ALL templates. Note this is not a blank line but actually a ‘space’ that shouldn’t be there.

http://sparkeditorial.com/spark-blog/?template=rhuk_milkywayI suspect you have edited some of the Joomla core files or else your download, ftp, or update was incomplete or corrupt in some way.

August 18, 2009 at 9:27 pm #314677Thanks Scotty, for the info. I wasn’t sure what to do with it, though, so I just re-downloaded, extracted, and uploaded the Joomla patch files for 1.5.10 to 1.5.14 (overwriting everything but the install file).
This didn’t change anything on the site on Firefox. In IE 8, though, every page is shifted to the left (no padding for left margin).
Is there a way I can copy this thread to the Joomla forum, so people can see it without logging in?

August 18, 2009 at 9:42 pm #314678Here’s what I would do….
- Install Joomlapack and make a full backup of your site.
- Download the latest Joomla. Not a patch – the full package.
- Extract the contents of the Joomla zip to your local drive.
- FTP the extracted files, except the Installation folder, to your web folder overwriting the existing Joomla core files.
This should solve it. If you are still having problems after this then feel free to PM me your FTP and admin details and I’ll have a look.

August 19, 2009 at 8:17 pm #314774Hi Sue, I’ve had a look at your site and I found disabling the iJoomlaComment plugin fixed the problem.
For some reason this component is adding a space above the main body area. You will have to take your question to their support area I’m afraid 🙁

August 19, 2009 at 8:28 pm #314775Will do, and thanks again for taking a close look.
My fingers are crossed that article commenting will be standard in Joomla 1.6…
