October 8, 2011 at 9:58 pm #169467I have tried to change the “Top Panel” text using the prior suggestions that are in the forums:
Navigate to: > Yoursite > language > en-GB >en-GB.mod_jatoppanel.ini open the file in your text editor. On about line 9 you will see “TOP PANEL=Top Panel” edit the Top Panel bit, keep it short, there is a limit to the amount charactures you can use.
This works for my site only for a few pages that seem to be without any menu links but not for any of my main pages.
I need someone to help me figure out why the “Top Panel” keeps getting shown despite that the file has been changed like I was instructed.
I have left site details.

October 8, 2011 at 10:36 pm #417790Hi,
Please upgrade this account or try the following and see if it helps you out.
From Template Manager Set JS and CSS optimization to no and then clear cache! If that works then you can set JS and CSS optimization back to on.
Regards
Manos

October 8, 2011 at 10:41 pm #417792Thanks for the quick reply.
I’m not following about the upgrading the account.
However I did make the changes to the mod.toppanel.ini file many months ago and just never pursued this even after it didn’t help. I also have had the JS and CSS optimization off many times and cleared the cache before as well, but to no avail.
If this is the case, you would not be seeing “Top Panel” on your browser. Are you seeing the words “Top Panel” or “Member Login”?
Thanks,
missioneyes

October 12, 2011 at 1:58 am #418586Hi,
I changed the string on file -> /modules/mod_jatoppanel/tmpl/default.php to “login” because as i can see on your installation there are a lot of different components and plugins that might prevent this string to be translated correctly!
Please tell me if that resolves your issue!

October 12, 2011 at 2:44 am #418595This does resolve the issue.
Can you tell me how this works – I’m assuming there was some sort of conflict with the language file. Perhaps this is why it worked on some pages that must not have had the conflict. Did you change the reference to the language file to fix this?
I see this that I’m assuming is what you changed: <div class=”ja-toppanel-button”><?php echo JText::_(‘Login’)?></div>
Did this say “Top panel” before or what?
Thanks.
