January 19, 2012 at 3:30 pm #172983Dear Staff,
How a simple question can become a problem…. I simply just can’t find an answer: how to change words like ‘Read this Entry’ , ‘More detail’ etc. in Dutch. I installed the Dutch language extension, it works, but not on these words. Where can I find the way to change it – otherwise the whole template will be worthless for my customers……
I like the template very much, but this takes so much time….Kind regards Jans Hindrik :-*

This is all handled by language ini files in root/language/(language code). Mine are de-DE. I would think yours would be nl-NL.
The one that handles the phrases you stated above are I think nl-NL.com_content.ini
It’s where my Weiterlesen, Weitere Beiträge… etc translations go
Hope that helps.

January 20, 2012 at 11:16 am #434610Staff, Swissa,
all very well, but…..
I checked the nl-NL-com_content.ini – that’s allright and a lot of phrases like: ‘Read on’ are translated. But not: ‘Read this entry’ and ‘More detail’ . I included this is the nl-NL.ini file, but that didn’t work. It must be somewhere in the template…..
Anyone knows where or how?Kind regards

January 20, 2012 at 11:29 am #434614Hi Jans
Have a look at the same file in en-GB.
If see you anything you would like in the nl-NL file copy the English across and stick your own translation in there.
If you trying to change a module there are within that folder also module specific ini files.
It could be that you don’t have one for the specific module that you are trying to change. In that case just copy one from en-GB, rename it, edit the contents and put it in you nl-NL folder.
I hope that throws a bit more light for you.

January 20, 2012 at 12:25 pm #434623Hallo Swissa,
I completely understand what you wrote – but still I can’t get it to work properly.
The Dutch text file is OK, for the normal things are all translated. I opened the files, GB en Nl and included the translation in the Dutch language file. Didn’t work. I discovered the gb-GB.mod_jasidenews.ini That was not implemented in the Dutch language… So I even made a Dutch translation for that file, but to no avail.
The only thing left is now to hide these buttons, but that’s really not an option…..
I’m puzzled.
But thanks for thinking!swissa Friendswissa

Silly question but you did clear the JAT3 cache and the cache in your browser?
Can you post a link?

January 20, 2012 at 12:49 pm #434628OK Swissa,
finally made it with one of the problems…. the other will be handled the same. It’s just looking for the right module, the right words etc etc. Maybe the staff could make a small tutorial for this…..
But your help was very much appreciated! I worked a long time (and still do for some sites) with templates of another company and these Joomlart templates, together with Joomla 1.7 are a bit different to work with. But I think it will be worth my efforts!
Thank you again,
kind regards,
Jans Hindrik:) -
