    Is there a way to make the root level menu item non-clickable in transmenu? For instance, in a menu structure like:

    Home | Dogs | Cats | etc.
    – Poodle – Persians
    – Beagle – Calico
    – Boxer

    Where “Dogs” and “Cats” are sections and “Poodle”, “Beagle” and “Boxer” are categories, is there a way to have a mouse-over of Dogs that opens the sub-menu but doesn’t take you to a section listing of all the categories?

    Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am new to Joomla.

    Make the parent menus (Home | Dogs | Cats |) a Link URL and add a “#” in the url location of the menu.

    Thanks for the tip… I didn’t think of that! :-[

    When tried the method descibed above it makes the parent menu link to the home page of my site. The desired action would be for it not to link anywhere or at least behave as a normal link to “#” would.

    The better solution would be to make the parent menu a placeholder. This option is located under Miscellaneous =>Seperator/Placeholder when you chose to add a new menu item.

    You can create the parent menu item as “Seperator/Placeholder” and add sub-menu’s to it.

    Also add the following line in transmenuh.css/transmenuh.css (which ever you are using), to get the same attributes of other menu items(font, color, padding etc).

    span.mainlevel-trans{

    <same as a.mainlevel-trans:link>

    }

    span.mainlevel_active-trans{

    <same as a.mainlevel_active-trans:link>

    }
