    help,
Ive built a site using the kulanite template with the Godaddy Connections. Now I want it so that when people go to my url they see my site but it just shows a page saying that this website is coming soon. I can view it at url to that url and that wont work. I have spoken to there tech guys a hundred times and all of them make me do something different, and now one of them is telling me to change my java script and I dont know how to do this, can someone help with this?

copy all files in ‘joomla’ directory to root folder and alter config file accordingly. You may also need to check some link paths if you have any absolutes set up.

    here’s how i do it

build the new site in a subdirectory

make a webpage using your favorite editor, name it index.htm or html

up load it to the root of the site with any associated grahics (make sure your image paths are right)

and now you have the coming soon page

You can build the new site without any conflicts with your coming soon page

when the new site is done, use joomlapack to move it to the root (remove your coming soon page first)

    except at godaddy

oh…thats right, things that make life easy such as joomlapack won’t work at godaddy because they are a non compliant host….what you’ll have to do is download the site, file by file, then upload the site, file by file to the root and then change the paths, it should take a few hours, but if you had a good host, the move to the root would take 15 minutes.
good luck, this is just one of the many issues you will have at godaddy

the files are in the root folder under the folder joomla so if i type in realkarting.com/joomla you can view them, so if i make a folder called index.htm or something and I copy the files to that will it load?
