Hello!
When I view the JA Quartz – Userguide for Joomla! 1.5.x here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-quartz-userguide/…if you go all the way down to the last image in the tutorial right before the threads, the body or “Welcome to the Front Page” lists articles in a way with a purple header and small images along with some text and “Read More”. Is this a blog layout?
My customer wants this middle “Welcome To The front Page” look on another menu item, “Events”.
Thanks!

April 9, 2009 at 1:25 am #300598Easiest way to accomplish what you want:
Go to MENUS > MAIN MENU
Select HOME and copy down the parameters (basic). (i.e. # Leading, # Intro, Columns, # links…)
Create the new menu item..either Section Blog or Category blog …call it EVENTS and replicate the Basic parameters. The difference between the Section Blog and Category Blog:
Section Blog will show the top items of all the categories under the section.
Category Blog will show the top items of a single category.Hope this helps. And have fun!
John.April 9, 2009 at 3:27 am #300629Hi John!
Yes, I’m good w/ Sections and Categories. How do I style the middle section so it’s got the purple header blocks for (I’m assuming) the H2 and H3 tags? Do I need to use a module class?
Right now I’m using the Section Blog layout since we’ll just put “Events” articles under the Section “Events” and use a Category of “Events” for the time being.
Thanks!
April 9, 2009 at 3:56 am #300634Hi!
I’m also just testing the Resources menu, and it’s still black…no green background or purple like the demo.
Could this be my article issue too…not using the right class name?Where can I find the different layouts? I’ve seen the module positions and typography already.
Thanks!

Coop!
Sorry man…misunderstood your question originally.
To get the pink color at the top of the center content area:
Goto: MENUS>MAIN MENU>HOME
Then: in PARAMETERS (SYSTEM) add “_fp” (without the quotes) in the Page Class Suffix area. That should do it.

Coop, (hope you don’t mind my calling you that…)
To change the background color:
Goto: EXTENTIONS > MODULES > RESOURCES
Then: Under ADVANCED PARAMETERS in the Module Class Suffix area add the following…without the quotesFor Green background: “_hilite1 default”
For Purple background: “_hilite2 default”Changing the color of the background of the module header line of RESOURCES (which is black by default) is more difficult, but doable…and will affect all of your left column header lines…not just resources.
The color is actually an image. You’ll find it in JA_QUARTZ > IMAGES > h3-bg.gifIt’s a very wide image (designed to stretch the width of the template if needed), but the template only shows enough to fill the area it needs.
And just for your info…the CSS code that references that area is
template.css (line 820)
div.moduletable_hilite1 h3 {
background:transparent url(../images/h3-bg.gif) no-repeat scroll left bottom;
}Hope this helps!

Thanks a ton…I printed out the tutorial and still didn’t see this…am I blind or somethin’! 😀
This is exactly what I was looking for…is this anywhere in a tutorial or “info” page for this template?
Thanks so much again!
April 13, 2009 at 3:50 am #301068John,
Got the main title to go purple…thanks!
what about the article title? Is there a SPAN tag or some type of class you have to use for the H2 or H3 for each article to get the purple bg (with slight top/bottom borders from what it looks like) and white font?
Thanks!
September 5, 2009 at 6:38 pm #316488I thought that if I mimicked all of the parameters from the homepage menu, and had the page suffix “_fp” and applied it to the section or category blog layout, it would look like the frontpage with the date, thumbnail, and the intro text… but it doesnt look like that at all.
The image is not resized, the date is not applied, and it looks crazy… Am I missing something?
