    Hi,
I did not turn on SEF in my Global configuration and I almost completed one of my websites. Now when I turn it ON, my site gets MAD, Items in the menu does not link up properly.

How can I solve it now? Any idea guys?

    Thanks

    Hi bytestor

Have you renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in the root folder?

Also, in Global Configuration in Joomla have you enabled the Use Apache_mod_rewrite?

    Hi Chris,

I had this problem in 2 sites n it is solved in one of them with renamed the htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in the root folder n keeping Apache_mod_rewrite off in global config. It works fine.

In another site, I did the same and it is still not working properly. Only index page is fine n in others pages n template collapses or throws 404 error. I even turned on Apache_mod_rewrite n tried, it is still the same.

    Thanks.

May be flushing your joomla cache and browser cache shall help.

    1. Reset browser cache.
    2. Clean / Delete Joomla cache.
    3. Disable cache from global configuration.
    4. Use ctrl + F5 to force reload the site.
    5. If it works, then enable joomla cache.

If the problem still persist, then you need someone to look into site settings and your .htacess file.
This sounds much more of Joomla related question, then the template issue.
