    Hi,

    App is everything today.

Is there a way to make my Joomla website into Apps so that I can sell it on the iOS App Store and the Android Market?

Joomlart has already provided mobile friendly versions of the templates to be shown on browsers, but how to convert them into apps?

Could you please make a tutorial on how to do the conversion (by coding or using packages like PhoneGap)?

    Thank you.

What kind of “app” are you trying to create utilizing a JATC template?

An app to show the mobile version of a Joomlart site. Just like opening the website through clicking the app (which can essentially be a browser) rather than manually typing in the default browser.

Currently we can only advise visitors to open the website on the phone and save the site as a shortcut. This is inconvenient.

An app also allows us to sell it on the App store for profits.

    YOU TRENDY CONFORMIST !!! :p

(hehehe, sorry … couldn’t resist razzin’ ya a bit … just playin’)

I honestly do not believe – at least insofar as I’ve heard – that this idea has even been thought of/considered.
It certainly is interesting … and I will bring this idea to the attention of our JA Development Team Leads to consider.

    Fantastic!

Making JA templates App-able will also dramatically increase Joomlart’s market exposure and user base.

I think it’s a great opportunity to increase your market share too.
Not just the desktop market but also the rapidly growing mobile market.

    Hi ceeyee,

Every joomla templates, not just Ja templates are running on a joomla site so Ja templates will only be App-able as you mentioned in case the Joomla itself also be App-able, JA always try it’s best to provide latest and newest techniques to the Joomla community but thinking of a JA templates App-able is not feasibility at this moment, that my thought !

    Want to make an app.

“You want to creat an item on which a user click and directed to the site???”
    Yes,
but I guess it’s better to make the app as a very basic browser (without url bar etc) opening the site, so that it looks like an app rather than a bookmark, or a redirection.

Here is how to make a static HTML site into an App, but I am looking for a deeper guide to work on Joomla.

    I understand..
Probably my question should be … is there a tutorial to make Joomla site into an App?

However JA templates are best for this because they have nice functional mobile versions ready.

I found guides to use PhoneGap to make Drupal sites into apps, but yet to find one for Joomla.
