    Hi Everyone,
I had no issues getting my Facebook business feed to work with Wall but no such luck with Twitter. Since I am a newbie to Tweeting I thought I should ask, is Twitter also set up for businesses like Facebook? Perhaps I’m trying to enter information from a personal Twitter account (versus a business) and that’s why it’s not pulling over. ??

    I’m sure I’m missing something simple. :((

I forgot to mention, when I click “Verify” in the Joomla Admin panel, it keeps telling me “No Tweet Results.”

I don’t use the feed plugin nor twitter too. But looking at the plugin settings and the way twitter is setup. I don’t think it matters whether your a/c is setup for personal or business. That should apply to both facebook and twitter too, imo.

From the plugin, it seems all it does is go to twitter’s site and enter this parameter “from:9gag” in the search box then perform a search and pulls all information.

My guess is, you are not searching properly or defining the parameter properly, thus the problem? Perhaps if you share your setting. Someone would be able to help you much better. Though my guess is, you’re using the wrong parameter to search.

    Thanks arucardx,
Twitter is not a huge issue. I have very few followers but it’s driving me crazy that it’s not working. I’ve tried entering my ID every which way in the area. I’ve used from:___ and @___ and the other suggestion #____.

I searched the forum and thought perhaps the https was causing the issue so I logged onto my Twitter account and turned it off…still nothing. When I click verify it says, “No Tweets found.” I even tried to change my Twitter user name. That didn’t work either. It’s aggravating because I’ve managed to successfully pull over feeds from Facebook, You Tube, and Flickr but no luck with Twitter. I’m sure you are right and that it has something to do with the ID.

Isn’t the JWellmanDesigns the ID I’m supposed to use?

    Problem #2 with the feeds:
I ran into another issue last night with Flickr. I searched the forum and found that someone changed the number of articles in the category section in order to pull over more than 20 items so I did the same. I also changed the parameter in the plug-in to pull over more than 20 items, but still 20 photos is all I get. Am I missing something? I want at least 50 photos to pull over.

I did some digging into your problem and came up with the cause. Twitter’s documentation weren’t that clear as you can read here.
http://support.twitter.com/groups/32-something-s-not-working/topics/118-search/articles/66018-my-tweets-or-hashtags-are-missing-from-search-known-issue# However the problem appears to be more simple than complicated despite a very complicated understanding of why its that way.

Here’s two threads that has the same problem as you.
    https://dev.twitter.com/discussions/4094
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5796263/no-results-for-a-specific-user-in-twitter-search-api

Their explanation is somewhat unclear but the guise of it is basically, you haven’t been tweeting often enough and so in order to keep a high quality service, twitter apparently filter out or flag accounts so they don’t appear in search. Perhaps to relieve server load, that part is unclear. It’s even more confusing when Twitter says they don’t index every tweets.

    The solution:
If you post a tweet now, and wait awhile. It seems twitter will flag your a/c to be indexed by the search api some few mins later and you will see your tweets appear in the search now. Which you can then feed to ja social feed plugin. Unfortunately, after “some” period of not tweeting, your a/c will get flagged again and removed from search results. How often do you need to tweet in order to keep your feeds in the search all the time, there’s no mention of it anywhere. But my guess is, few times a day.

Alternatively, you can contact twitter support and have them flag your a/c to be in the search api at all times. They may or may not entertain that request though, but they did say you can try.

As for your problem 2. Maybe you misunderstood the purpose of Import limit in the plugin. Allow me to apologies if I’m the one who misunderstood you. But from what I gather, you saw another Ja Wall site loading 30 articles on their homepage and you’re trying to do the same. I believe what you want to do should be
    1) Go into Menu Manager
    2) Find twitter or whichever name you create as the menu item, click on it.
    3) Under Blog Layout Options, set the intro articles to 30. The default option that came with the template is 0,20,0,0.

Setting that to 30 would now cause the page to load 30 articles when clicked on before attempting to load another 30 in order to fill the screen. You can set that to 50 if you like, but I’m not sure if your screen can fit 50 pictures, unless they are really small. The advice from one developer was not to go over 25 in one of the topics, but seems going over doesn’t affect anything. You might want to count in the load time for a slow user though, he would now be required to load 50 pictures all at the same time.

The above steps is if you’re using putting the feeds into a Joomla category. If you’re using K2, it’s a different step. Though I don’t see how one can put those feeds into K2 with the plugin… so it’s most likely Joomla.

So what does Import Limit does?
Import limit is basically well. Before we get there. Do you remember seeing this Cron Interval setting in the plugin? Well the feed don’t comes into joomla in real time. So you set a time for the plugin to automatically pull the feed results again and download new feeds. The automated job within a set time limit is called a cron aka scheduled task.

The Import limit affects how many new feeds is downloaded and saved into Joomla every time the cron runs. So changing that to 30 but without having 30 new articles is basically just doing nothing. The existing feeds have already been downloaded and saved into Joomla so there’s nothing for it to do.
    ===========================================================

I hope this post solves your twitter feed problem. I admit that twitter quality of service thing is very ridiculous though, have to wonder why ppl even accept that reasoning and let it be. They should be damned for alienating accounts for just not being active enough.

I’m just so unpopular *Sniffle* 😀 Oh well, I’m not really worried about Twitter then. I’m not a big fan of it at all.

Sorry for the confusion in my explanation. That’s exactly what I did. I changed the number to 50 in the Blog Layout option, but it still is only pulling 20 photos and then completely stops and says, “No more pages to load.”

I’m not using K2 and I’m not sure if I need to (??) I guess I’m confused on its purpose. It was not in the download section of Wall so I didn’t load it.

Gotcha, gotcha! Thank you for clarifying the import!

I just saw your response about K2 in another post…thanks for the explanation!

Hmm… if you’re still loading only 20 articles then getting no more pages to load. Hmm.. do you still get new feeds? Cause that would be helpful to debug, knowing that the cron job is running all right.

If you still get new feeds and you are sure you have more than 20 articles but still it’s displaying only 20 articles. I think the solution can be found in this topic. http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/no-more-pages-to-load/

Wall Crasher posted the solution in there about redirection and infinity scroll as the cause of the problem. Direct link to his post.

    Lightbulb just went off.

Sometimes when I am working on a site in a separate folder – versus the live domain – I sometimes will come across errors, but once it is in the correct folder a lot of errors are fixed. I’m going to try and move it and see what happens.

hi, do you have any idea of how to replace joomlart twitter account on the twitter feed plugin (on the JA-Travel template) for your own account? or you have to buy the plugin? i bought the travel template and it already comes with the plugin, but i just can´t configure to work with my twitter account.
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi @angelsanchezjr,

In template JA Travel, we’re using modules mod_jatwitter. Please go to administrator -> modules manager, find it and reconfig in modules.
