April 29, 2009 at 2:31 pm #140715I have two identical sub-menu items, both are set up exactly the same in every respect. “Title Linkable” is set to “Yes” on both. One menu item has linkable titles, the other does not even though it is set to “Yes”. The other strange thing about the problem page is the breadcrumbs do not show what I have set up in the menu item and I am not sure why.
Correct menu item:
menu: magazine > “Current Issue” > “Web Exclusives”
Breadcrumbs show: Home > Current Issue > Web ExclusivesProblem menu item:
menu: magazine > “Current Issue” > “From the Magazine”
Breadcrumbs show: Home > Latest (should be Home > Current Issue > From the Magazine)Also, again, the problem menu item titles are not linkable even though set to “Yes”.
What is the problem?

May 16, 2009 at 3:48 am #304791hi
for the title linkeable problem check the paratemer on:
Content -> Article Manager -> then select Parameter on the right-top menu, check how is it set.about the breadcrumbs problem:
1. check if the category of both articles are the same.
2. the link on magazine menu maybe has not the same display tipe as your menu.what do i do to control breadcrums link and a right display:
1. create a menu with links to what i wanna display and set the display.
2. create the link in magazine menu and set again the display on this menu. (both are different even they are linked to same article)so in website:
when u enter to article using the magazine menu, it will display it as is set in magazine menu… and breadcrumbs will show simething like this (Home – category – article ) but if u click on “category” on breadcrumbs link it will display as you set the display it in the other menu .i hope u undestand what im trying to explain.
cheers and good luck

May 18, 2009 at 5:15 pm #304993You were right on the title linkable problem, thank you, but I still can not figure out the problem with my menu. Everything that I can find between the menu item that is working and that which isn’t is exactly the same, and to clarify, these are two items on the same menu, “magazine”, not two different menus.
Any other thoughts? The text that is showing up in the breadcrumbs isn’t even an alias used anywhere that I can find…

May 19, 2009 at 6:26 pm #305133The two urls in question are:
http://www.blueridgecountry.com/newsstand/web-exclusives/
This url is the correct way the breadcrumbs should be displayed.
Breadcrumbs are “Home > Current Issue > Web Exclusives”http://www.blueridgecountry.com/newsstand/magazine/
This url is incorrect and shows the last breadcrumb as “Latest”. I have no idea where it’s getting that from because neither the menu, section or category has “Latest” as the title or alias.
Breadcrumbs are “Home > Latest”Both urls in the menu are under the same parent item which is “Current Issue”.

May 19, 2009 at 10:31 pm #305155magazine > “Current Issue” > “From the Magazine”
is “from the magazine” a link set as “internal link – articles – category – category blog layout”?.
the articles that it show belong to the same category?
*
i mean “current issue” is the section name
into this section there are the caterogies “web exclusive” and “editor’s column” (both have the display setting as “category blog layout”) i wonder if “from the magazine”, if this menu item is a “category blog layout” and if this category belong to this “current issue” section too.cheers
