the error is coming from the Virtualmart component on your site .
I found a solution on Virtualmart forum for the same topic Here i suggest you try the solution .
Also suggest you to post this issue on Virtualmart forum so they can check the and suggest you fix for the problem .

Thanks… it just frightens me that the entire site crashed as such especially since I never even touched VM after installing the quickstart.
I’ll probably just back VM out of this one because I don’t really want it on this particular one, but is this a common issue with JA templates using VM or a common VM issue. I have another site coming up that is a full ecommerce site and while I like JA, I’m hesitant if this is something that could happen in a site with potentially 2400 items in it.

Hi its not issue from the template .I saw you updated your Joomla to latest version 3.6.3 , kindly check the Virtualmart is ready for latest Joomla or not . Also never update live sites before checking the extensions and template compatibility . Kindly restore the site backup , so your site can start running , and write the problem on virtual mart forum with the error you are getting .

I also suggest you to do not update live Joomla version , till the extension and template not ready for it .

Good advice… thank you…. you have been a big help for a lot of stupid questions (a problem when I take rush jobs)….
In this instance, i just took VM out because I didn’t need it (this is a non ecomm site)

ok, one more little issue that is puzzling me…

When I go to the ‘we stream perfection…’ module from the sample data (i admit I like to refer to the samples and reverse engineer them when i’m in a rush job rather than build from scratch) it goes weird… see attached example
