The moment I activate the T3 plugin my browser shows the following error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’, expecting ‘(‘ in /home/www/joomla1/plugins/system/jat3/core/common.php on line 225
Neither the frontside nor the backside of the webpage is accessable from this moment on.
I have to delete the whole webpage and reinstall joomla from scratch. This is my config:
Fresh installation of Joomla 1.5.20 (using a 1-click installation provided by my provider
using MySQL 5
First I upload and install the blank template (ja_t3_blank.v1.1.4.zip).
Then I upload and install the T3 plugin (plg_system_jat3.v1.2.1.zip).
Then I make the template the default template.
Then I activate the T3 plugin and
bangThe whole system stops running and is not accessible any more…
This is very serious since my only way to fix this is by deleting all my files and install Joomla from scratch.

December 28, 2010 at 7:58 am #368896Hi,
My guess: there could be a problem with the one click install software your hosting is using.
Have you tried using the T3 Blank Quickstart?
Download link here:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=cat&id=317Give this a try and tell us how it worked.
Regards,
DannyDecember 28, 2010 at 4:17 pm #368942Ok – thanks.
I will try this. But the whole point why I picked this provider was the fact that I don’t have to deal with a manual set up.Thanks anyway.
Cheers

December 28, 2010 at 5:12 pm #368949The problem with these one click installs is they always have to modify core files for the system to work. Although it may seem a simple way to start you will almost always encounter issues somewhere down the line.
Another huge problem is that the one click installs are almost always out of date. For instance you state that the installer is installing Joomla 1.5.20. The current release is 1.5.22 which contains some major security fixes since your version.
I can fully understand that some people would struggle to install some packages but Joomla really is an easy package to work with. Give it a go and I am sure you will be happy. If you are installing one of the JA templates start from scratch and use one of our quickstarts which use the latest version of Joomla with our own demo content and templates added on.

December 28, 2010 at 6:04 pm #368968Same error here.
I try to install Teline 4 over an old Teline 2 installation.
As soon as I enable the T3 plugin I get the error – syntax error, unexpected ‘)’, expecting ‘(‘ on line 225 – my joomla is up to date 1.5.22December 28, 2010 at 6:14 pm #368971Thanks folks,
I think I found the reason for my “crash”. My provider does not use PHP 5 as I said. My mistake. I mixed up the numbers with the MySQL database. This one is version 5.
But my Joomla is running on PHP 4.4.9.This also makes other components crash e.g. the Akeeba backup system.
I already wrote them a ticket.

December 28, 2010 at 6:18 pm #368972No good host should be running PHP4.x anymore. It is a few years now since it was made obsolete and no security updates have been applied since.
Most hosts have upgraded but sometimes a server gets overlooked. Hopefully your host can fix thi quickly.
I still recomment manual installation rather than the one click option.
Silviuantone,
Please also check your PHP version.

January 3, 2011 at 4:57 pm #369861What happened, did the back end fail when you activated the plugin? If that is the case then we can go into the back end via PHPMyadmin and de-activate the plugin before we investigate the cause. Once we have the site running again we can do some checks to see what is going wrong.
If you do not know how to deactivate the plugin then PM me your admin details for joomla and you phpmyadmin details and I will take a look for you.
