Unable to install virtumart on JA Social ..it gives me this error ” There was an error uploading this file to the server.”

it might not be ja social issue. Just install on any of your default templates and see if you can still install virute mart. It does sound to me like it is your server issue rather than template. If it was template it shouldn’t stop you from installing.

This is file permission issue. You read the tutorial on this in the Virtuemart FAQ section http://virtuemart.net/documentation/User_Manual/Installation_FAQ.html#N20563
