June 27, 2008 at 4:58 pm #256761My bad then, and my humble apologize.
If it was entirely up to me and we have had a few meetings about wether or not to support JA – again, if it was up to me, I would not give JA another dime, not as much for the templates that they churn out but more for the lack of support. There will be a couple of more before our dues are up.
We are in the works of shifting our priorities too, so time will tell. Did you read my calculations on how much JoomlArt makes a month per their own statistics? (http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14517&goto=newpost)
The lack of official response is making me more and more determined to take this outside of the JA forums to educate potential clients not to spend their money with JoomlArt. I will make it personal if that is what it takes
]There are other clubs out there that treats their clients with respect and listens to their needs and release great templates and I will work hard to promote those with the backings of Joomla Views.

June 27, 2008 at 5:02 pm #256762As a quick addendum – it is funny that all this is comming to a culmination right now as I honestly liked Kulanite… my issues with JA is more with their lack of respect to their paying clients and lack of support and willingness to fix bugs and update releases.
Visigod pointed out that one of the modules released with kulanite included the same bug as in teline II (I think, I cannot find the thread right now)… that is unexcusable, this bug was found, apparently fixed but yet it still exist in a later template. That is shoddy work!

June 27, 2008 at 5:06 pm #256764The business model is ruled by the demo. That’s it.
And if there was money back, I would use it, definitely

June 27, 2008 at 5:16 pm #256766The way I see things, and hey I may be a mile wide, is that I don’t think it makes good business sence JoomlArt coming out to defend themselves everytime a complaint is made. (nothing personal meant) Because they would be here all the time.
I can understand where you are coming from but I have seen an awful lot of improvement in JoomlArt in the last four or five months.
There are a lot more answered threads in the forums.Errors have been made…They changed the download system thinging they were making things better, alas like a few other changes that have been made they have clearly messed up and certain issues need to be corrected.
That been said I am pretty sure JA know how we feel, and while it would be foolish to ignor the paying customer, I don’t expect or need them to come out and tell me how much they care.
I do expect like everyone else the wrongs to be put right. πI think when some people start a new website and decide to put a little HIT COUNTER on their homepage, they don’t always start from zero, little white lies are told so the viewer things they are looking at a popular site….whose to say JA’s members figures aren’t ever so slightly over the top π

June 27, 2008 at 5:30 pm #256767If I were to post a complaint about the way they do things on Shape5.com or RocketTheme.com or ThemeJoomla.com – they would certainly post a response back to figure out what I was griping about and at the very least acknowledge my issue.
Your entire logic of “if they did respond, they would need to respond all the time” – what does that tell you? Does that suggest a content and as their advertising states 20661 satisfied members?
…and do you really compare a white lie of adding a few numbers to a hit counter to an outright lie with padded numbers? Now – wasn’t that what took down Enron?
Inflating your sales numbers to gain more sales is not only unethical, I would think it would be illegal as well. Is that what you are telling me?
I am not sure what you are gaining at – if I did misunderstood your two comments, please help me understand but as it sounds right now, you think JA should not bother commenting on complaints because there are too many of them and their numbers that they claim are artificially inflated to attract more members?
Did I get that right?

Like I said I didn’t say I dissagreed with all your post, but just because some of us don’t agree with everything you say does not make us wrong π

June 27, 2008 at 5:58 pm #256773I certainly agree – I am far from perfect and I state things from my own perception and as such it is obviously skewed as any personal thought may be.
I was just getting the feeling you were trying to pick on me so I pointed out what I felt was faulty reasoning in your commentary.
My issues with JA is not the type of templates they release, certainly there have been many I have far than appreciated but each to his own, and what I may not like someone else will love, and as a potential member you can see what has been made and what you can pick from – you find something you like you will join (thats the part where JA demo sales) – what you cannot see as a potential member is the lack of support.
I would go as far as to say that the support at JA is one of the worse I have ever seen in any online product I have purchased in the last couple of years. Their standards do not compare to most if not all the other Joomla template clubs i have looked at.
The community is pretty good here at JA, a lot of people helping others and moderators that try to help out as much as they can but the official support is non-existant.
I would love to see what you do not agree with that i have posted today, I may be wrong on that point, or we just have different point of views – but can you really say one thing you disagree from todays topics?
Cheers,
..Tony

June 27, 2008 at 6:04 pm #256775At the end of the day Tony JoomlArt have got themselves covered….Templates are sold AS IS and they themselves don’t have to give us any support thats what the forum is for.
Don’t jump on me I am not saying that is right…but it is what we all signed up for.

June 27, 2008 at 6:12 pm #256777You know.. I laughed out loud when I read that… but as it turns out – you are right.
Doing a quick check on their home page, I cannot find anything that says that you are entitled to help or support, but that does not really mean the same thing as that they are not responsible for releasing buggy templates.
But it does raise an interesting point and it makes me even more determined in my quest to educate people to stay away from JA until they change their ways.
TouchΓ©… and a scarey one at that!
