Hello,
I too would like to start my issue here with first complementing the Mers design. The problem is that I’ve been going through the forum and user guides for the last few hours troubleshooting and I’ve gotten nowhere on getting my menu bar to look and act like the demo site. So far I’ve found 3 separate cases where folks are experiencing the same or similar issues that I am but they don’t ever fully seem to get resolved.
My issues are:
- I can’t seem to get the little house to replace the word ‘HOME’
- My menu items load each page individually rather than sliding the pages up and down.
- My menu bar is relative rather than fixed, which I can change, but the logo remains relative (which I could also change if I went through the code, but I would much rather solve the prior issues before tackling that. Is there an easier way???? It all seems so complicated…)
As much as I enjoy troubleshooting, I’m on a tight deadline and I’ve exhausted all of the resources I could get my hands on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance.

July 3, 2012 at 3:06 am #459643Hi curtjer,
You might have just installed the template package only (not the qs package), if that please follow this template guide here to make a proper setting and get it work as demo.
Anyway I can answer your questions as following
1) I can’t seem to get the little house to replace the word ‘HOME’
in the home menu item setting >> Under the Parameters (JA Extended) panel you should enter the text of home-icon for the field Additional class2) My menu items load each page individually rather than sliding the pages up and down.
Those items that load slide the pages up and down actually are not normal menu items instead they are page mode that generated by the template, if you go to the template back-end >> LAYOUTS tab and go to edit the default layout you would see defined for those page like this
<block name=”onepage” type=”onepage” pageid=”” no-wrap=”1″ no-main=”2″>
<page name=”home” type=”modules” title=”About me” class=”color1 first-item”>page1</page>
<page name=”photos” type=”modules” title=”Photos” class=”color2″>page2</page>
<page name=”our-story” type=”modules” title=”Stories” class=”color3″>page3</page>
<page name=”events” type=”modules” title=”Event” class=”color4″>page4</page>
<page name=”our-blog” type=”modules” title=”Blog” class=”color5″>page5</page>
<page name=”youll-say” type=”modules” title=”Guestbook” class=”color6 last-item”>page6</page>
</block>3) My menu bar is relative rather than fixed, which I can change, but the logo remains relative (which I could also change if I went through the code, but I would much rather solve the prior issues before tackling that. Is there an easier way???? It all seems so complicated…)
Can you share with me the url where this is being seen ?
