Can I update Joomla 1.5 to 1.7 while keeping JA Portfolio and the contents of my website intact?

I changed the title on the front page menu item (in system parameters) but the title is still “Welcome to the Frontpage” on the main page.

You login backend > Menus > Main Menu > Home > Page Display Options > Page Heading. You change the title ” Welcome to JA Portfolio”

I’ve noticed that there’s an update for JA Portfolio to Joomla 1.7.
Can I update Joomla 1.5 to 1.7 while keeping JA Portfolio and the contents of my website intact?

Hi gali_n

For the title of your Homepage goto Menus–>Main Menù–>Home–>Parameters (System)–>Page Title change your title

For the second question actually on JED http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/migration-a-conversion/joomla-migration/11658

there is this component the version 1.2.0 is for joomla 1.7

if you have many other components and modules not compatible with the J1.7 version on your J1.5 site would be better to not use it .

Hi Pavit,
I see no reason not to upgrade, now that JA Portfolio is updated to version 1.7.
I’ll just delete everything and start from scratch with the JA Portfolio Quickstart files for Joomla 1.7.

OK, so I uploaded the JA Portfolio 1.7 quickstart files and started from scratch.
I have a weird problem with the top slideshow. I replaced the images in the “slideshow” folder with my own images but for some reason it still shows some of the old house images.
How do I remove the house images from the slideshow?

You will have a folder called “Resized”. Simply remove the resized images that are being shown from there so the script can generate your images in their place.

I cleaned it now just to be safe.
I also deleted the old images from the “Resized” folder.
