When i try to update plugins, modules keep getting error………………………………………………

Unknown Archive type
Update path does not exist
JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file
Unable to detect manifest file……………..

i have Joomla! 2.5.8…… Can you help guys? Sean

Please check the folder permissions in your site folder.
