February 18, 2007 at 2:42 pm #118839Hello,
I sent this q as an email to joomlart. But didn’t get a response. Hence posting it here.Right now, joomla version is 1.012. I am wondering will the existing templates get updated if new builds/versions of joomla comes? (Most likely new builds will not affect templates, but sometimes it does).
For example, joomla v1.5 is up on the horizon, if all of your existing 24 templates gets invalid for some reason, will you update all 24 to suite joomal v1.5 or will you update only the highly demanded templates.
By the way, for some reason acrus template is not working at all. While others are working for me. Will i get support if similar situation occurs after I purchase club membership?
Thanks,
drbBalaji Ramanathan FriendBalaji Ramanathan

February 19, 2007 at 8:00 pm #214766Thanks for the reply.
Whenever there is a forum, there will be a mixture of success and failures. I saw lots of people complaining about ‘not an easy template to install’ and lots having success with it.
From my browsers, everything seems to be perfect.
The free templates from you and others that I have tried are just a matter of uploading the folder with files into templates directory.
Is that how your latest template files work? Will simple uploading is good enough? Reason i ask is that I am just learning joomla and other things. I should say I am little above average person in handling those.
Please let me know.
thanks
drb

February 20, 2007 at 9:45 pm #214787What you have to do is to place the correct modules in the correct positions. You would also have to use the menu type you want and so on. But yes, basically you upload the template into the templates directory but some modifications in the joomla backend is necessary. But no need for making any major or minor changes in index or css files. Just applying the correct settings. ( in other words, tools, colour, menu type, module positioning.
It can be a bit difficult at first but you will soon enough get the hang of it.
