Hi all !

A question :

Is it safe to update joomla 1.5.3 to 1.5.6 with teline II aleady installed in 1.5.3 ??

Does anybody tried it before?

If you mean the Joomla component then there should be no problem. If you follow the Joomla link for Joomla 1.5.6, the article there, it includes a link for detailed procedure on how to upgrade Joomla.

I have done Joomla 1.5.3 to Joomla 1.5.5 patch upgrade and then Joomla 1.5.5 to Joomla 1.5.6 patch upgrade with no problem.

However, before I did the above, I tested first in a mirror site, to make sure that I did not encounter any problem before I applied it to my critical sites. Also as suggested by Joomla and Joomlart, you are supposed to backup your site — so that if anything happens, then you can always restore using the backup.

However, there are numerous Teline II updates since then. For an existing site, it is very very difficult, very time consuming and dangerous for anyone who has very limited experience to update from the original version of Teline II to Teline II v1.5 using the install-uninstall procedure.

but so far, based from the response of Hung,

Joomlart has no plans or reluctant to provide a much easier and less error prone procedure to upgrade Teline II.
