Hi. I have a site using ja_purity_ii with Joomla! 2.5. I have made several changes to the original template concerning the header graphics, masks and header size and some others. I am not a programmer and have very limited knowledge of PHP – most of the changes were simply substituting the original files with my own. I need to upgrade the template to version 2.5.3, and JA Typo plugin to 2.5.5, but when I did this on a different site, I lost all my changes.

Is there any way to perform the update without this happening or an easy way to redo the changes?

Hello Dave,

Do you have any backup of your site? please try to restore it first.

WIth JA Products, it’s recommend to use our JA Extension Manager component (free extension) to update. It provides options for you to check and compare files to know the difference between 2 versions: which is new / modified / … file

The most important thing is whenever you update something, pls take a BACKUP of your site first 🙂
