I know this has probably been asked before but I can’t find the exact steps on how to upgrade.

I’m running Joomla 1.5.6 and would like to upgrade to Joomla 1.5.9 with the latest JA Edenite templates.

Do I upgrade Joomla first? or JA Edenite? and when I do upgrade will it wipe out my customization?

To upgrade 1.5.6 to 1.5.9 you would use this patch – http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/9293/34987/Joomla_1.5.6_to_1.5.9-Stable-Patch_Package.zip

If you have customised any of the Joomla core files then you will lose them.

Unless there is a new version of Edinite then you will not need to update that at all and will not lose any customisation you’ve done.
