Hello,
i have joomla 1.0. I just upgraded virtuemart 1.0 to 1.1.0 and have a big problem with Larix template now. The problem is probably because the template is for joomla 1.0 and for virtueamrt 1.0, so how can i fix this?
I would like to upgrade joomla 1.0.15 to joomla 1.5, does anyone know how to do this, because i want to keep ja Larix template.
If i upgrade joomla 1.0 to joomla 1.5 by the joomla.org rules, i guess the template would not work. Which files do i need to copy from quickstart after i upgrade joomla, so that all of the stuff is compatible?Thank you very much! And please, i need that as soon as possible, because now is a bit of a mess on this page: http://www.sveterotike.si

I have migrated about 20 sites with Virtuemart components, Is it easy with this extension.May 10, 2009 at 2:16 pm #304213Thanks allot! Ill try this out. But the most important question is, what will happen with the ja Larix template and virtuemart flypages?? Is it gonna be a mess? Do i need to uninstall the old template and install the new one for joomla 1.5?

June 3, 2009 at 4:53 pm #306719Hello quang268,
I am following your suggestion too.
I am upgrading my web site http://www.meglioinsalute.com from joomla 1.0.15 to joomla 1.5.10 in test environment http://www.meglioinsalute.com/TEST.
Articles have been migrated, but components and module have not been migrated: in mtwmigrator configuration panel the area “3rd Party Extensions” is read-only and I can not change the bullet to “Yes”.
Please could you tell me ho to migrate components, especially Virtuemart?
Thanks a lot
Bye

LauraTo Migrate Virtuemart data over to your Migrated J 1.5 follow these steps (using MTWmigrator)
1. Install Virtuemart component completely over the J 1.5 site.
2. The VM button will be activated in your MTW Migrator component. Select Yes and save.
3. Click the Migrate button and its done.
4. Copy over the virtuemart.cfg.php from your old joomla to J .1.5. in administrator/components/com_virtuemart/ .Hope this helps.

June 3, 2009 at 7:36 pm #306767Plus need to move the virtuemart images folder to the J 1.5 folder.
The latest VM is 1.1.3, so an update before migration is required as quang268 rightly pointed out.
regards
arvind
June 3, 2009 at 8:59 pm #306780Quang 268, Arvind,
thank you very much for your help.
I installed a patch on my production site to upgrade VM from 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 and everything was ok 😎
Then I tried to run again mtwmigrator, and it gave me an error message:
FAILED! – Duplicate key
Then I uninstalled VM and reinstalled it again on my new Joomla 1.5 web site and run mtwmigrator again, but it always gives me the same error message: FAILED! – Duplicate key
Thank you very much for your help!
Bye

June 4, 2009 at 7:17 am #306842OK, I’ve done! 😀
I reinstalled everything from scratch: joomla, and every component.
The migration was ok, but in my web site I got a runtime error:
Error: Possible server error! – ()
Error: Failed to retrieve the Currency Converter XML document.
So searching in internet I found: http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=40263.0
and followed the suggestion:
put the file taken by http://www.ecb.int/stats/eurofxref/eurofxref-daily.xml, rename it daily.xml and put it in cache directory .
So now I do not get the error message anymore and everyting is ok.
Thank you very much for your help! 🙂

LauraJune 4, 2009 at 3:24 pm #306910Sorry guys,
I tried it again since I had some duplicate entru menus entry in my test web site.
So I reinstalled once again my test environment, and … it does not work anymore!
It gives me duplicate entry one again when I launch mtwmigration.
The only way I can handle that is not installing sample data, which is a problem for me, since i need some modules that come with the sample data, like Login.
Please do you have some suggestion?
Thanks a lot!
