Hi
I am upgrading for the first time the JA job board myself. I went through the WIKI document for the upload procedure and I was confused regarding the Step #5 which
‘Step #5 – Restore uploads folder
Restore uploads folder under site_root/components/com_jajobboard folder from previous backup to another folder of your website, let’s say your_site_root/jbuploads, and then configure this to be the uploads folder.’
Now I have been unable to find the any folder by the name of Upload in ‘site_root/components/com_jajobboard’ folder. The current path for ‘Uploads folder’ is ‘/images/stories/jbuploads’.
Now the question remains that should I copy the ‘Jbuploads’ folder from the current path and then after upgradation, copy it back to the same location OR should I copy another folder (??) from ‘site_root/components/com_jajobboard’ folder to the uploads folder path.
Its a bit confusing for me. Any suggestion will be highly welcome.
Thanks

Nishant</blockquote>Guy,
Please refer to the following notes for your solution:
– You must copy data from this folder /components/com_jajobboard/jbuploads/ to this folder /images/stories/jbuploads/
– After upgrading to the latest version, you should recheck the configuration settings of Jobboard to see that they are set correctly or not via Admin: Components => JA JobBoard => Global Settings => System Configuration => Upload folderJuly 27, 2010 at 1:50 am #350793Hi
Thanks for your reply. However as I mentioned earlier, there is no ‘jbuploads’ folder at /components/com_jajobboard/ path.
The ‘jbuploads’ folder is ONLY present is at the following path /images/stories/jbuploads.
So the question remains that should I backup the ‘Jbuploads’ folder and copy it back to the same location ( /images/stories/jbuploads ) after the upgrade of the JA job board.
And if this is correct then what is the purpose of backing up the entire files and folders as per step # 1
Step #1 – Backup previous Job Board version
Backup site_root/components/com_jajobboard folder.
Backup site_root/administrator/component/com_jajobboard folder.Anonymous ModeratorJA Developer

</blockquote>Hi,
Folder /components/com_jajobboard/jbuploads still exists in version 1.4.3 and under. If your current JA JB version is 1.4.4 and over, you no need to back up folder /images/stories/jbuploads because it will not be deleted after uninstallation.
July 27, 2010 at 8:26 am #350859Hi
Yes, My current version is 1.4.5. So does that mean that I do NOT have to backup any file or folder while upgrading (I have still backed up the 2 folders in step #1)
Therefore Can I simply go ahead and uninstall the current version and install the new one ? ( I am asking this basic question as its not mentioned in the Wiki)
Your confirmation will be reassuring for me to go ahead and update the entire component 🙂

Guy,
As you are using JA JB version 1.4.5 so that it’s unnecessary to take care of backing up image folder.
Please back up folder /components/com_jajobboard/ and /administrator/components/com_jajobboard/ to keep your customizations before installing the new one.
