October 15, 2011 at 8:11 pm #169704Hello team
I got installed Ja Anion for Joomla 1.5, I’m in 1.5.23 version.
I need to upgrade to 1.7 with the same template but I haven’t done it before. How can I do this?
Is this so complicated, which risk could I have?Thank your for the support.
Regards.

A possible risk would be extension incompatibility. Depending on the extensions you are using with your current J1.5 site, the extensions may or may not be compatible (yet) with J1.7. It would be best for you to check before you attempt any update.joomser Friendjoomser

October 17, 2011 at 9:11 pm #419875Good
I understood the subjet about the compatibility between extensions and all that stuff, Also I’m checking the jUpgrade features.
Actually I don’t have special extensions because it’s a JaAnion fresh install, maybe AkeebaBackUp is the only different extension that I’ve installed.
Thank you very much.Other interesting thing I would like to know. I’ve made some customizations in the templates.css, especially with template colors. Could I lose this changes when I upgrade from JaAnion 1.5 to 1.7?
Regards.

October 25, 2011 at 10:20 pm #421581Hi guys.
Has been really a nightmare to make an upgrade from 1.5. to 1.7 with jUpgrade. Personally I think is a deception this component. Don’t have good documentation or instructions, I lost many hours and it was as make all from the begining. Besides, I had to install Ja Anion (1.7) template again and remake all the modules configuration and positions because the upgrade ignores the current template that you have before the process.
Now, I have a problem and I don’t know what else to do.
When I install K2 (last version 2.5.0), mega menu doesn’t work and slideshow module neither. I don’t know what is the conflict there. When uninstall K2 everything comes fine again. You’ll see that it doesn’t show the slideshow and the items of menu doesn’t spread the other options. K2 is installed in this moment obviously.
Thank you for the support.TomC ModeratorTomC

October 26, 2011 at 4:55 am #421604While JA has utilized/styled the K2 CCK component within our J1.5 templates, the crux of the matter is that K2 is a 3rd Party component and not a JoomlArt proprietary product. As such, difficulties integrating and configuring the K2 component is not a fault of JoomlArt.
While I cannot make any kind of promises, I am confident that our JA Developers will be starting to work with/integrate the new J1.7 compatible K2 component within future JATC Template releases very soon. As for updating current J1.7 templates with the the new K2 component, I am likewise confident that this will eventually happen – though I have no definitive roadmap time-frame to provide at this time.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t know that JA templates for Joomla 1.7 were not compatible with K2.
For now I going to work with Joomla 1.7, pending a future adaptation of K2 in the JA templates. :pRegards.
