most of the 25 Commercial JATC Templates Updated like jatarvel ja eric,japortfolio
didn’t include k2 ,and thier joomla1.5 template have k2

When those templates were released K2 was not available for Joomla 1.6/7. In fact the developer was not even sure whether they were going to develop for those versions. This left JA in a difficult sutuation which resulted in the continued development for J1.5 but for the new versions of Joomla extra overrides were put in place to extend the functionality of the core Joomla templates.

Late in the game the K2 developers did release K2 for J1.7 and from then on many of our templates began to include styling. Whether the developers go back and spend a lot of development time adding new features to the older templates or not is yet to be decided. At this time please do not base an projects on the specific styling being available. Having said that K2 will and does work with all our J2.5 based templates but some of the styling may be the K2 defaults.
