I have gotten requests from employers to be able to unpublish their jobs on the front end, rather than delete them. And then be able to republish later. This sounds like a good idea from an administrator point of view. What do you think?

Actually, we should be able to limit employers from deleting their own jobs as well. Having jobs disappear off the system entirely creates problems with tracking.

I have discussed with the developers, and they said will consider this problem to improve the case for job post. You can follow to the status of this issue here: http://pm.joomlart.com/browse/JAJBJ25-333

    Hi Brent,

Administrator can allow Employer to unpublish his jobs from front-end now, to do that you can apply steps below:
    – In Jobboard back-end > Open Form Customization page
    – Edit “Publish date” field of Edit Job form
    – In the setting form of “Edit field” form, select “Show all on Front-end” under “Display mode” Setting (It was “Show on New and View only on Edit form”)
    – Save the form, and rebuild database
    – Now, on Job edit form on front-end, Employer can select publish date of job. It means Employer can control when Job is published

    1. update_form_field
    2. edit_job

I appreciate that. I had already made an adjustment where the delete functionality was replaced with an unpublish functionality. That allowed them to easily click to unpublish and republish with one click. I can share the code if anyone wants it.
