February 29, 2012 at 11:17 pm #174464Hi ,
I am using ja_kranos on a joomla 1.7 installation. Is there a guide to help me on upgading my template and extensions to joomla 2.5?
I suppose that I first have to upgade Joomla! to 2.5 but is there sth that has to be done concerning the template and extensions beforehand? (except , ofcourse a full site backup…)
I have tried to find some info on this but it was not possible, so if one could be of help i would appreciate…:)
Thanks,steinar Friendsteinar

I realize that this isn’t precisely what you are asking, but I would like to point to some pretty good documentation on the joomla.org site:
http://docs.joomla.org/Upgrading_from_Joomla_1.7_to_Joomla_2.5

March 1, 2012 at 11:38 am #441080Thanks guys for the help,I will have a look at the link you suggested.
My real problem is how to upgrade template and joomlart extensions. Upgrading Joomla! is a standard procedure from within joomla, so I believe it is clear enough for me . But, after that, is the template going to work? Are the plugins going to work? If not how can I upgrade them ?
Is there a document to explain what has to be done? Thanks

March 1, 2012 at 11:54 am #441081I’m not JA staff or a moderator just another user so understand if you ignore this! 😉
Before you do an upgrade I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do a back up using Akeeba. Then if have big worries about your site, why not try upgrading a clone site first?
My experience, albeit not massive, is to use JA Extensions Manger to handle the whole process. Make sure you update this plugin first and then when you run it it will go off and get all the latest modules.
I’d really have a look at the link Tom gave above before getting started and also the link from n6rej in that post. 🙂
