I am using Kulanite with Joomla 1.0.12 and want to upgrade to 1.5 stable

I am afraid that due to differences of the 2 versions that errors may occur to my site. Ha anyone done it before me? Any help?

I have done it with a different template recently. Here is what I did.

Firstly, I jnstalled Joomlapack to my old website and made a backup of my entire site.

    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-&-security/backup/1606/details

I then installed Wamp on my desktop

    http://www.wampserver.com/en/

And installed the backup of my site to that.

This gave me a working copy of my site on my desktop so I could work away without killing my online site. So from now on we will be working on the desktop.

Grab and install the MTW migrator component.

    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/hosting-&-servers/data-conversion/3895/details

And use this to convert all your stuff from J1.0 to 1.5.

Next, grab the quickstart of your template fron this site and install the 1.5 version to Wamp.

Any components/plugins/modules that you have on your old site that are not part of the template you will need to find 1.5 equivalents and install those to your new 1.5 site.

Install MTW on your new site and import all your stuff.

Now hopefully you should be up and running on your desktop. There may be one or two minor fixes you need to do but until those problems come up you cannot know what they might be. So fix those or come here for help.

Once running properly use the J1.5 version of Joomlapack to upload your shiney new J1.5 site back to your host.

except. you will need to upgrade your .12 install to .13 to.15 AND THEN to 1.5

its only versions 1.0.13 and later that can be upgraded
