December 18, 2011 at 4:28 pm #171927I recently created a site using JA Cooper template in Joomla 1.5 I have now decided to upgrade this site to Joomla 1.7 and to use the new Kranos template. Please could you advise how to go about doing this.
The problem is, JA Cooper does not yet have an upgrade to Joomla 1.7 so I am not sure how to implement the upgrade and not to loose my current content and menu structure. Please could you advise what the best route to follow will be.jooservices Friendjooservices

December 19, 2011 at 1:13 am #430314In this case JA Cooper not yet upgraded to Joomla! 1.7 , i afraid you can’t do much here.
But if you want to upgrade to JA Kranos, there is no problems.#1. Upgrade Joomla! use jUpgrade
#2. Upgrade extensions as needed
#3. Upgrade T3
#4. Install JA Kranos J! 1.7
#5. Select installed template.Thank you

February 22, 2012 at 11:49 am #439449Hi
Thanks for your response above. I still have not done the upgrade from JA Cooper 1.5 yet and will now have to upgrade to J2.5. Before I go ahead and do it, please confirm that my current content and menu structure in JA Cooper will remain in tact through this upgrade and installation of the new JA Kranos template. I am just nervous and need this reassurance please.Thank you.

February 22, 2012 at 2:54 pm #439475The content and menus structure will be the same but the position of the content, modules etc will be different. ensure you make a full site backup before doing the upgrade akeeba backup is the best for this. please dl and read the docs on usage and restoring etc. before use

February 22, 2012 at 2:58 pm #439476Maybe this tutorial will help – http://www.jomsocial.com/blog.html
There are plenty more similar tutorials to be found via Google. It really can be a complicated task so I suggest you work on your local machine using a tool such as WAMP with a copy of your site moved to localhost using the aforementioned Akeeba.
