How do you upgrade the system plugin for JAT3 in JA Social from 1.1.6 to 1.1.9? I used the Quick Installer and apparently there have been 3 upgrades in the past 3 weeks since I launched the site.

You can view this for upgrade instructions::

Still, I would suggest to take backup of your site before upgrading 🙂

I upgraded through the Extensions Manager and it messed up the entire site CSS, now I’m really screwed! http://wholerawfoodnow.com
I have a back up but what’s the point if every time I upgrade the JA products it breaks the site? How do I resolve this?

Using the Extensions manager please roll back to your old version. I will in the mean time look into why yuor css became messed up in that way. It is currently non existant. So far that has not happened to me nor have I seen reports of this in the forums.

Wow, that was not fun! Rolled back and everything is fine now but now I am back to where I began which is without the use of the new ?tp=1 feature. So much for new site development today. Guess I’ll go have some lunch.

Would you do me a favour? Do you use akeeba backup? If you do would it bo possible for you to PM me an admin logon so I can take a backup of your site and test why this is failing to work?

I’ve done some testing and it appears to be a bug. I can update to 1.1.7 without a problem but all later versions seem to be killing your css. I have raised a ticket for you. Please check the status of your ticket for an update. Also, if you could add your login information to the ticket (it will take about 10 minutes to create) so the devs can take a look if required.

You will see a link to your ticket at the bottom of your second post in this thread.

You seem to have a file called head.php in your template>JA_Social>blocks folder that is not in the usual package. Is this a custom modification by yourself. Removing that causes the template to work after updating to 1.1.9

This was added per Hung in order to add the three search engine meta tags as there is no place to add them in the T3 framework. If you know where to put them without adding this head.php, let me know.

It appears to be incorrect. If you look at the source of your page with and without that head.php I can see no difference. Mind you, it is 00:30 here and I am a little on the tired side so I may be missing something.

For now, remove that file and update to 1.1.9 and I will find out where we should be putting those meta tags.

If you look at the attached source code, at the bottom you will see the meta name=google…

This is for Google, Yahoo and Bing SE Analytics. If you know of a better way to do this and get the three meta tag snippets into the head, please advise.

Could you try putting your tags here – plugins>system>jat3>base-themes>default>blocks>head.php

Or used one of the plugins available from the JED.

Done, now 1.1.9 is installed and the site CSS is not broken but when you use ?tp=1 then the CSS breaks. None of this makes any sense at all.

It doesn’t break for me on the test download from you. Please make sure you have cleared both your browsers cache and the jat3 cache.

    Where is the jat3 cache?
