November 28, 2011 at 9:44 pm #171200Hi!
I am using Teline IV, version 1.1.1 with Joomla! version 1.6.6 and I would like to upgrade to the latest versions of both. I see how to do this in the JA extension manager but I wanted to confirm the order I should do things in? Is it in this order?:
- Upgrade T3 framework
- Upgrade Teline IV Template
- Upgrade Joomla!
Also, I’m using T3 1.3.0 beta. Do I need to upgrade to 1.3.0 Stable, and then every update in between? Or can I skip straight to 1.5.0?
Thanks!

November 28, 2011 at 10:06 pm #427009First thing to do is install Akeeba backup and then take a backup of your site.
When done select a default template, clear all caches then update Joomla. Check everything is running on the default template as far as it can then update the jat3 plugin followed by the template. Once you have done that go through all your other extensions one by one to make sure they are all up to date.

November 28, 2011 at 10:26 pm #427011Thanks! I will try that. And I have Akeeba Backup installed so I’ll definitely make a backup first.
Just real quick…question about when you say “Select a Default template”. Right now Teline IV is my default, so should I select one of the other templates that came with Joomla (like Milkyway or Beez5)?
Thanks again.

November 28, 2011 at 11:42 pm #427018Yes, I should have explained a little better. One of the templates that came with Joomla is what I meant.

November 30, 2011 at 5:05 am #427249Worked pretty good! Thanks a lot!
Wonder if you know if there’s a list where I can compare the files that were upgraded after the fact? I saw it before but forgot to write it down so wondered if you guys keep that in an archive somewhere to make sure I re-upload everything? Went from 1.1.1 to 1.2.0.

November 30, 2011 at 7:30 am #427270Which files exavtly are you worried about?
In the JA Extenstion manager you do have the ability to compare the differences between the version you have asnd the version you are updating to.
What I would do though is download the jpa file from the backup you made with Akeeba to my local machine then use kickstart.php from AKeeba to extract the archive. Then you can use one of many file compare tools for windows to see the exact differences.
