    Hi guys,

I am a Teline I user and now I want to upgrade my website to Teline II. Is it possible?

I have registed users, a lot of contents etc….

If not, what the best way to do that?

    Thanks

I am using Teline 1.0 and now I was thinking in upgrade for Teline II 1.5, but if not possible i will upgrade for Teline II 1.0.

i think it really depends on how much modifications you have done to the core code of Joomla and the template, ie editing the php or css files

if no core changes were done, then it should not be too difficult to upgrade from Teline to Teline II but only in 1.0.

if you need to go to 1.5, i think it will be quite difficult.

anyway, you could just install a copy of teline ii template onto your joomla and try swapping to the template to see the effects. it shouldn’t really affect your original teline so just switch back to teline if you have too many problems in teline ii

Well, I decided to install the 1.5 Joomla and TeLine II. I will copy the content from the old site to the new.

My question is, what the best way to change the old site registered users to the new one?

    Hi meiros

I’m not too sure about all this ‘technical stuff’, but, to me, if you point the new Joomla 1.5 back end at your existing database, wouldn’t it import all the users and articles for you?

Maybe I’m talking absolute rubbish, but it was just a though!

I created a new database to work with Joomla 1.5. Now I am transfering the content to the new site. My big problem are the registed users…..

    Hi meiros

here’s an interesting article about exporting and importing Joomla users using MyPHPAdmin. Maybe worth checking out?
