Hi
Followed instructions for upgrading joomla 1.7 to 2.5 but I am getting this message
Jinstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML. setup file
Update path does not exist
Linstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML. setup file
Unable to detect manifest fileUpdating COM_INSTALLER_TYPE_was successful
Not sure if it’s my template (Rave 1.7) causing the problem or something else?
Could anyone please help!TomC ModeratorTomC

February 21, 2012 at 9:34 am #439213One more issue , I need to upgrade my template “Rave 1.2.1 to 2.5” without losing all mods and changes that I have made. Any advice on this would be much appreciated as I’m still lacking a lot of skills.

February 24, 2012 at 3:49 am #439770I assume you mean rave 1.2.1 for Joomla 1.5
There is no SIMPLE update.. you have to reinstall the Joomla 2.5 template. in your case you’ll want to compare your changes against a default rave 1.2.1 template, extract the diff and then either apply it as a local theme override or apply it to the new 2.5 for rave.
Mods will all need to be uninstalled and replaced. going from 1.5 to 2.5 is NOT a update… its a migration and as such there is no simple conversion.I’ve spent about 2 mo so far on mine and while its almost ready its not there yet… But I”m not doing a SIMPLE migration either, I’m changing the site while I’m at it….
others have had great luck with spupgrade in migrating… it all depends on your site…February 24, 2012 at 8:43 am #439825Thanks for your reply, I should have said that it was Rave 1.2.1 Joomla 1.7 upgarding to 2.5. Anyway after reading a lot more info on joomlart I have successfully updated my template to 2.5. I did have had a couple of minor issues but worked through them and hopefully now onwards and upwards as they say.
