Please download a fresh “Joomla 3 & 2.5 (JA T3v2 Framework)” JA Nex quick start pack (make sure you are not downloading the “JA Nex – Joomla 3 & 2.5 (T3 Framework)”), create anywhere on you remote hosting a test folder and run its install. See how it goes.

I will try and report back how it went.

Just a little question before I proceed, because watching at the clock, I think you’re almost done for today supporting the forums.

In case the whole procedure goes smooth, can I continue on the developing part with the T3v2 framework, I mean it has the same functionality and features? I just want to work today and I need to be sure the end result will be identical (responsive template etc)

Thank you again for dealing with me mate, I will keep you posted.

Fingers crossed. In “the 3 P’s we trust”! 🙂

EDIT: I am uploading JA-Nex Joomla 3 & 2.5 JA T3v2 Framework, quickstart package, in a different directory as we speak.

In the meantime I had my hosting company to check on t3-assets/dev folders’permissions once again just to make sure and they got back to me with a definitive answer that the folders are writable and permissions are fine. Since the same happenned on my local installation attempt, It must be something other than permissions issue, I suppose.

EDIT2: Well I have properly installed the T3v2 quick package, but its not like your demo. I mean, visually it is although it misses somes photos, but it’s not responsive and the “top” button on the footer doesnt have any effect, it just goes straight up. Now in the backend, it’s completely different than the T3 version. It’s joomla 3.1 and I don’t see any features in template manager to play around.

I also see 14 updates, see attachment. What do I do with them?

Please tell me I’m missing something.

I think the suggested action is far from being a solution to the problem. I really need to start working and what I need and can’t do is having the demo version installed and updated with the latest framework update.

The 500 error occurs after the update and switching to the ja nex t3v2 framework the way I see it is not a solution, but a real problem which frustrates me pretty mouch..

Can we get some help on this JoomlArt team, please? I don’t want to annoy you, just understand my situation and I’m sure you do.

    Thank you in advance.

The way I understand you, you did create a test sub-folder and did manage to install the JA Nex Quick Start into it without facing error 500 at frontend?

    Regards,

    Alex

Yes. That’s exactly what I did.

But I fail to see the point in having the t3v2 version installed and saying there is no error, since what I want is the Ja Nex template for joomla 3.2. The ja nex t3v2 is joomla 3.1 and misses a lot of features. I never said I had an error when I installed the T3 for joomla 3.2 quickstart package… The error 500 which is the reason I made this thread specifically occurs when i try to update the T3 framework from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3 as stated clearly in my first post.

From that point I was suggested that it might be my WAMP installation, which means to me that there’s something wrong and not something that just cannot be done. So I did an installation on my VPS and so on. You then tried to reproduce it on your end.

How did we get to the conclusion that if I don’t see an error 500 on the Ja nex t3v2 framework is a “solution”? First of all in that framework there is nothing to update so the situation is not the same, and second and most important: its a different template! No reponsive, no nothing of that fancy stuff which T3 version for joomla 3.2 has and is the reason I joined the club.

    I am really confused.

Am I wasting my time waiting for support on the forums or should I make a ticket?

From the previous conversation I lost one day of work because for some reason you thought installing the t3v2 template was a solution while it was really misleading…I still fail to see the point in having me to install that template, what was proven by that? I’m afraid it was proven you haven’t understood what I was saying, obviously.

Your statement here is false: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/what-is-the-difference-between-nex-t3-version-and-nex/#post-529617

The T3v2 is old, misses features, and is based on joomla 3.1
The T3 is newer, responsive, has new features and is based on joomla 3.2

I clearly explain what I was trying to do, no need for me to repeat myself.

You are here for supporting members, not giving them wrong directions. After a 2 page conversation with me being infront of the monitor all day trying to figure out the problem, I was told to install the t3v2 template, I really dont understand this. And since then not an answer, I mean, minutes after you told me to do that, I specifically asked you if I’m gonna miss any features etc and you said nothing. You just came later on to state the obvious which never was my problem in the first place.

Keep in mind that people pays for your products for a reason. If you release a template which gives notifications like “hey dude update your framework” the user WILL update it, and he expects it to be working and if not, he expects the dev team to work it out if the problem is yours OR at least give an answer on which side is the problem, mine or yours so I can deal with the facts and decide how am I gonna proceed?

Since yesterday I’m waiting for an official answer saying something like “your update didn’t work because this and that” OR “we are really sorry but you can’t update yet for x and y reasons”

Instead, I’m left in the dark wondering if what I’m experiencing is a bug or a problem on my end. As a result I don’t know how to proceed with my project’s development..

Now please, an answer maybe clearing some things out helping me to move on is NOT that much to ask…And if something in my message isn’t clear to you and you need to understand me better or my english is bad, say so and I will try better…But don’t make assumptions on your own about people’s needs. People here seek for (possible) solutions to specific problems, not trying to be a smartass but that’s what I was expecting. Not a suggestion to use a different product.

    Thank you in advance.

I appreciate your following my instructions and installing the “Joomla 3 & 2.5 (JA T3v2 Framework), JA Nex for Joomla 3 and Joomla 2.5 developed with JA T3v2 Framework” on your server.

In your opening this thread post you’ve reported to us that at your JA Nex installation’s front page you’ve faced the following error:

    Error 500
Cannot create css cached file in development folder: t3-assets/dev
Please try one of the following pages: Home Page
    </blockquote>

May I ask if in that test installation’s front page error message

    “Error 500
Cannot create css cached file in development folder: t3-assets/dev
Please try one of the following pages: Home Page”

    has gone?

Ι really really don’t know which part is confusing you. It is stated even in the topic title.

Ja nex T3 for J32 quickstart = installed OK no problems. ( it has the 2.1.2 T3 system plugin coming with that package)

Ja nex T3 for J32 quickstart installation (the one i installed OK without problems) = upgrading the T3 plugin from 2.1.2 TO 2.1.3 results in <blockquote>Error 500
Cannot create css cached file in development folder: t3-assets/dev
Please try one of the following pages: Home Page
    </blockquote>

I got a notification in the backend saying dude update your framework. And I did.

After that, I created this topic…

    ===

After 2 pages you told me to install the Ja nex T3v2 quickstart and see how it goes. Well it went brilliantly. <— But that is irrelevant to my problem/topic. Ja Nex T3v2 is not a solution, its a different product. I cannot put it more simple.

I found out the solution myself because I have a project to deliver, so I’ll share it:

people using the JA-Nex T3 for J32 quickstart package (updated joomla to 3.2.3) when you see the message saying <blockquote>Dude! There’s a newer version for your T3 Framework!

Your version is 2.1.2. T3 Framework’s latest version is 2.1.3.</blockquote>

do not update , it will crash your site.

Stick to 2.1.2 until we get a proper solution to this.

Just an update for anyone interested.

I successfully updated the T3 framework plugin from v2.1.2 to v2.1.5 by simply going to Components > JA Extensions manager > Services Manager > selected JoomlArt updates as Default > edit > entered username + password of my account on joomlart.com and then I went to Ja Extensions manager > T3 framework plugin > check update > update > done.

    Thank you case closed.
