Hi, I have to update the template. My problem is how to update it if the template was very customized. I don’t want to update through Ja Extensions Manager because I don’t have control with the customized files. I think the only customized files would be the .css but there are also some themes and some other files. Can I update file by file to be reviewing? which files are crucial to update?

    Hi
The template update is perform via JA extension manager or upload template from Joomla extension manager installer , As u do not want to update template due to heavy custom work done on your site, You can go to JA extension manager component . click on check for updates for template . There u can see compare options , click on it and compare and update the files manually on your site .

    Hi
There are not a new template in repository of Ja Extensions manager. Anyway, how to compare options? I think you say the only way is to open file by file and compare them with the new template version. I think this is the only solution, saving all .css files with custom.css, subfolder template files and maybe some other styles files. I only want to know which files are essential for to update, if I had to do it manually.

Thanks, but the repository don’t have the last version. I send you a screenshot. If I download the current version, can the system compare the versions?
And also if I install (only the template folder, no que quickstart) the system show me a message that say: Error, there was an error uploading this file to the server. Unable to find the installation package.

    Hi
You need to add your JA account user/pass in Service manager area > Joomlart updates .
then set it as default . After that click on check for updates .

If you updated then template via JA extension manager then the old version template auto saved in JA extension manager data .
you have not need to manual upload .

On the right of the list of items you will see the text "local service". If you click on this you can change it to the joomlart repository.

The MySQL error is normal. Take a look in the docs to see how to setup he ja extension manager to do the update for you. If you struggle feel free to send me a private message with your login details, both for the site and your ja logins, and I will setup the extension manager for you.
